^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ⇉⇉ Prompt: My prompt was sky. Of course, the most immediate idea was to add a sky-related identity. But a bit of research I did shows that people DO identify as the sky- aerokin. SO I scrapped that and brainstormed. ⇉Term: Aertow ⇉Etymology: ⟹ Aer/Aero: Related to air/atmosphere/sky ⟹ Tow: pull, draw or drag ⇉So, what does Aertow mean? ⟹ Aertow describes an alterhuman experience where a shift is exclusively or primarily triggered by atmospheric and meteorological changes. This includes changes in wind speed/direction, shifts in barometric pressure, or the visual sight of the open sky. **Any shifts- mental, phantom, sensory, etc** ⇉Examples: ⟹ 1) You are riding in the passenger seat of a car with the windows rolled all the way down. As the high-speed wind rushes against your face and through your hair, it instantly triggers a phantom or mental shift, making you feel entirely aligned with your kintype. ⟹ 2) You step outside right before a massive summer storm. The air pressure drops, the sky turns a deep bruised purple, and looking up at the swirling clouds immediately forces an involuntary shift. This aertow is common for especially dragon alterhumans, or alterhumans that fly. ⟹3) an aertow is NOT simply admiring the sky and going "Oh woah, I wish I could fly up there and feel the pressure on me!"- that's just longing for flying or something :) Doubt Clarification: This is for any alterhuman, wings or not. ⇉⇉The symbol: The Aertow symbol has a/an: - Circle: The circle is the base and foundation of the entire symbol, just like many other alterhuman symbols. It represents connectivity. - Triangle: The triangle has 2 ways of being interpreted. The first way is as the classic triangle of the theta-delta symbol, though that isn’t the interpretation I was aiming for. It's actually the chemical annotation for air, when you combine it with the horizontal line up top. - Horizontal Line/ Arrow: It symbolizes the movement of the wind, and the vast expanse of the sky domain - Swirl: It's the eye of the storm. It represents speed, and barometric pressure. --x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x--x-- A little thing! As a canid therian, I experience aertows! Sometimes, when I stick my head out the window, I feel a small mental shift, and a phantom snout on my face. The fast-paced wind does this. It's also because many canids stick their heads out of windows to cool down, or to get sensory/smells from the wind directly.
