Done! It’s taken almost as long to upload and recode it as the actual animation took lmao- - Bio - Backstory - Personality - Credits and design notes in n+c Simple bio: Name - Marilyn Pronouns - they/them Species - human (ish) Universe - it doesn’t have a name but my cool alien universe with all my human ocs and a plot line i probably can’t share on scratch… Sexuality - aromantic lesbian Age - 16 as of the start of the actual story, 10-11 in this animation. Anyway yes watch it and then you can press space or click to switch between my ref for the character, and Indigo’s original drawing :D Marilyn is August. Matt is the only other character with a design. The stick figures are their family who don’t deserve being person shaped or coloured in. Backstory (CW queerphobia and death of a character): Marilyn grew up in a household full of hostility. This was largely directed at their older brother, Matt, when he came out as gay, but once Marilyn realised they were nonbinary their family grew cold towards them as well. When their older brother turned 18, he immediately left home and invited Marilyn to come live with him. They accepted and the siblings set off together in Matt’s car towards the nearest city. But then disaster struck - just before a bridge, a deer (lmao) ran in front of the car and as Matt turned to avoid it, the car skidded on the wet road and fell into the river. Matt couldn’t get out. His seatbelt was broken and trapped him as the car sank. But he urged Marilyn to leave him, which they did with great reluctance. They took his jacket with them and luckily made it to the bank, but now with a big problem (as well as their brother’s death): if they returned to civilisation, they would be given back to their parents and forced to live with them for the next 8 years. Marilyn couldn’t bear the thought, so they decided to stay in the forest until they reached adulthood. So yeah they stayed there and fixed up a cottage and occasionally went into the outskirts of a nearby town for supplies, always pretending that their brother was still looking after them and always hiding from the authorities. Four years later, this is where they meet Kira - another of my OCs who sadly doesn’t feature in this animation because I figured scratch wouldn’t survive if it was twice the length… and yeah they become friends and things happen, awful awful things, Kira gets possessed yadayadayada and they make a band to convince the world to accept aliens and its a metaphor for something and yeah. I will elaborate if you like? Personality: Marilyn was always a quiet child. They had to be. But since the accident they’ve got even quieter, only speaking to people other than Kira on the rare occasions that they go into town. They feel guilty about Matt’s death and yet naively hopeful at the same time, holding onto Matt’s promise that he would find them if he survived. They like drawing and can read quite well, but they do neither very often because at night it’s a waste of light. Matt taught them to sew when they were little and it’s their favourite pastime - for example, they embroidered the leaves on Matt’s old jacket themself.
