Unlike most of the others, they were able to travel all the way to the top of the cliff, but by then the exit was already sealed. The vessel tried everything they could to break open or get past the seal, but it was to no avail as the barrier remained firm and impassable. Deciding to look for another exit Fang turned around, but their leg slipped on the edge of the metal platform and they lost their footing, causing the vessel to start falling back down into the depths of the Abyss. A feeling of panic and fear managed to surface out of the vessel’s mind of nothingness, and in that burst of emotion they teleported, warping right outside of the Abyss’s seal and into Ancient Basin. By then, the Hollow Knight had already been sealed and the kingdom was already gone as the Infection went rampant again. Having not lost their purpose yet, however, Fang went off on a journey to replace the Hollow Knight, climbing up from the ruined lift shaft and entering the City of Tears. They picked up a Broken Nail from an unfortunate corpse and had it repaired by the Nailsmith into the Sharpened Nail. Fang then went off to take down Lurien, but was quickly overwhelmed by the Watcher Knights, barely managing to escape with their life as they saw they weren’t ready to remove the Dreamer’s Seal yet. So to become stronger Fang traveled around, eventually finding a broken stag stop in King’s Station. Out of curiosity they entered the small cave, arriving to Kingdom’s Edge, and soon after, Nailmaster Oro. With geo they gained from traversing through the City of Tears, Fang was trained by the Nailmaster, learning how to fight properly with a weapon and the Nail Art Dash Slash. Despite being prepared to face the Watcher Knights now, however, Fang thought it wasn’t enough…but for what, exactly? To find that answer Fang pressed on through the cliffs of Kingdom’s Edge, soon encountering the Colosseum of Fools. Seeing the thrills of combat and fighting, something began to awaken from within the vessel’s void shell. So after making a contribution and placing a mark on the Trial of the Warrior, Fang entered the arena, fighting off hoards of beasts and warriors. With the skills they learned from Oro, they managed to beat the Trial of the Warrior. Standing over the corpses and geo at the end of the trial, Fang finally understood. They desired combat, they desired challenge and glory. And so, Fang continued to fight in the Colosseum of Fools, slowly starting to make their way up the Trials. With the decaying presence of the Wyrm and the training and fighting in the Colosseum of Fools, Fang’s body was able to develop and undergo a sort of metamorphosis through a void cocoon after beating the Trial of the Conqueror. After their transformation they left their state of still development, growing to be about the age and height of Broken Vessel/Lost Kin. They returned to Nailsmith to upgrade their Nail with the Pale Ore they got from the Trial of the Conqueror, mainly to help with its efficiency and adjust for the vessel’s new height. Now with the Channeled Nail Fang returned to the Colosseum of Fools, now no longer interested in becoming the new Hollow Knight and sealing the Radiance. As now they only sought combat and glory, to overcome a near impossible challenge and face the thrill of battle. However, the Colosseum slowly began to grow more and more boring and repetitive for the vessel. Fighters became mere jokes to them, and beasts had dissolved into minor annoyances. The God Tamer was the only real challenge the arena had to offer them by then, but by then the champion had fallen from grace and did not fight anymore, already beaten by a certain challenger who had left the arena soon after they won. And so, Fang’s world slowly began to grow a bit gray again. Bored and having lost interest in the arena, Fang began to attend the Colosseum less and less. They instead began to wander around again, looking for something, anything to give them a good challenge or sate their boredom.
