MODDED VERSION OF A RECREATION OF JEVIL'S FIGHT BY @tripoid I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PLAYING THIS UNLESS YOU CAN BEAT THE ORIGINAL What's different about this version you ask? Well, every attack is harder, whether it be through an extra projectile, a smaller box to dodge in, different projectile behaviors, or a totally original attack (let's just say the thumbnail isn't just for show...) Controls: Arrow Keys - Move soul and move through menus. Z Key - Select and advance dialogue. X Key - Cancel, slow soul movement, and speed up text. Q - Skip intro TIPS: -In my opinion, defeating Jevil with violence is easier than by mercy, due to only Kris being able to ACT, while all party members can attack individually. -If doing the violence fight, use Pirouette on the second turn, it helps out immensely. - If all three party members are alive, Jevil will only target one party member at random, but if ANY of them are KOd, then BOTH remaining party members will be hit. Keep all three of them alive at all costs!!! - You have a lot of Dark Burgers, but you don't have infinite. They heal for nearly double what Ralsei's Heal Prayer does. Use Heal Prayer when you can, but don't be TOO scared to use the burgers. You can lose a lot of health pretty fast! - If there is an attack you can't seem to avoid, defend on the turn before it! Jevils attacks follow a set order (see below) LIST OF ATTACKS, WITH COMMENTS/TIPS PHASE 1: (Attacks will repeat in this order until phase 2 is triggered) ATTACK 1: Small spades. Jevil fires small spades that move slowly, and overwhelm the screen. Use X to slow your movement to make weaving through them easier! ATTACK 2: Spade Ring. Spades charge at you in a circular pattern. Think fast! ATTACK 3: Heart bombs. The box is small in this attack, take advantage of the fact that the bomb will aim itself at your location when it blows up, so be in the corner when this happens so you have the most room to dodge. ATTACK 4: Devilsknife 1. Weave in & out of the devilsknives while diamonds come from the bottom of the screen. Hope you can multitask! PHASE 2: (Attacks will repeat in this order until phase 3 is triggered) ATTACK 1: Carousel. The hitboxes are mean, so good luck. ATTACK 2: Club Bombs. There is an additional club that travels slower. Try to keep moving, but there isn't much strategy here beyond being good at Deltarune. ATTACK 3: Falling Diamonds 1. Diamonds charge at you while heart bombs appear periodically. I would recommend hugging the top and moving down when a heart bomb explodes. ATTACK 4: Spade Ring 2. Spades move slower, but Jevil also fires his small spades to act as nuisances. PHASE 3: (Attacks will repeat in this order until phase 4 is triggered) ATTACK 1: Carousel 2. Hitboxes still stink. ATTACK 2: Spade bombs. In addition to a ring of spades, each bomb fires one high-speed spade directly at your location. Be sure to move perpindicular to bombs when they explode. ATTACK 3: Club guns. The box is small for this attack. This attack looks intimidating, but the key is to move as LITTLE as possible so that the bullets home in on roughly the same area rather than covering the whole box. ATTACK 4: Devilsknife 2. In addition to the projectiles in Devilsknife 1, a red knife will charge through the top half of the screen, then the bottom half, then switch back and forth. PHASE 4: (Attacks will go through this order ONCE, and then switch to phase 5) ATTACK 1: Fast Diamonds. Jevil fires diamonds that vary in speed. Again, not much strategy beyond practice. ATTACK 2: Chaos Bomb. A bomb attack that can use any bomb from the previous attacks with the addition of Diamond bombs, where three diamonds charge straight at you at VERY high speeds upon explosion. ATTACK 3: Falling Diamonds 2. Same as Falling Diamonds 1, but with diamond bombs instead of heart bombs. ATTACK 4: GRAND CHAOS!!! This is the thumbnail attack. You know what, I won't spoil it for you. But, uh, its the hardest, longest, most complicated attack by far so good luck!! PHASE 5: (Attacks will repeat in this order for the remainder of the fight) ATTACK 1: Carousel attack 1.Same as before. ATTACK 2: Spade Ring 2. Same as before. ATTACK 3: Fast Diamonds. Same as before. ATTACK 4:Chaos Bomb. Same as before. ... that was a lot of attacks, huh? well, hope that helps you survive. If you want to practice a specific attack, look inside and find the commented code in the first sprite. A few final notes: You may notice the carousel attacks are NOT changed. This is because, as great as this recreation is, the hitboxes on the carousel attacks are... not generous, to say the least. Making those attacks harder would be cruel, so consider those attacks as your periodic breaks from the madness. All attacks can be no-hit, though I do admit that it can be luck-based at times. I have done each of them myself (Not in one run, if you can pull that off, I will be very, very impressed). That's all. Good luck!
So I actually did the vast majority of this project a long time ago, but never got around to adding the finishing touches/sharing. Sprites, concept, and music/sfx are directly from Deltarune by Toby Fox. Most of the code was by @tripoid, I just modded it and added some things here and there. Deltarune font in the thumbnail was generated in a website called "fontbolt" (side note: the size options in this website were "tiny," "small," "medium," "large," and "your mom," which really caught me off guard XD).
