WIP Mario and Luigi overworld and battle engine Arrow keys to move X = "A" (Mario's jump) Z = "B" (Luigi's Jump) IN BATTLE: X = "A" (Mario's jump/select/hammer) Z = "B" (Luigi's Jump/select/hammer) A = "L" (Back button for the menus) left and right to scroll the boxes, up and down for inventory and bros attack menus Space = instantly initiate battle (for debug) To do list: - More bros attacks (I dont know how many of them I want to do in the long run, some of them wouldn't work well without a second screen) - Would like to do Badges at some point, I did add the change badge block after all - Rest of the sound effects - Special effects (the flash when the enemy takes damage, the particles for when M&L are healed, the flash that indicates when an excellent hammer strike is, etc.) - Speed and Stache stats (also lucky hits) - Did not make a way to fight more than one enemy, should do that. - displaying max HP/SP in the item menu when you have a healing item for that stat selected - I never added an animation for gaining sp, oopsie Various bugs that I want to fix: - inconsistency for when jumps for the inactive bro are locked in the menus, the code for that is a little scattered - weird stuff happens when you press two opposing directions in the overworld - the bros picking each other up is buggy due to animations not being canceled after the attack ends or when hit due to the input delay. - Jumping on projectiles only barely works, why is there such delay? - Hammer dodging is really bad. In a vacuum it works great, but it doesn't get cancelled correctly by taking damage or the attack ending
All sprites, music, and sound effects are from Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Sprites downloaded from the Spriter's Resource. For layering Mario and Luigi, I used a highest to lowest number sorter by @Nanner25 because thats a very logic based thing that I don't know how to do, I just make silly games. Thanks to @griffpatch for the cool tutorial on how to use the fisheye effect to stretch sprites. Feedback is appreciated, anything you think should be done to make it feel more like Mario and Luigi, please let me know.
