The Startup chimes are the normal sounds that occur when any Apple computer is turned on. It can also be heard any chimes on iPhone by going to Settings → Accessibility → Audio/Visual and enabling "Turn On & Off Sounds". This project's thumbnail is visible. The Crashes are produced by hitting the Programmer's Key (either by hitting the "Reset" button on the computer, or by hitting the "⌘-Reset" keys on the keyboard) during the first stages of boot up. It can also occur during boot up when some low-level errors occur. Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar and later instead use the prohibition sign symbol to denote a hardware or software error that renders the computer non-bootable.
