This used to be a funicular railway cart from even before the 19th century. Until the early 2000s when the owner decided to have a lift instead, and got a generic lift company to fully replace it at least by putting a box over it. The tracks are still fully original but are now covered. Anyway, this thing is hardly ever used except to carry goods up and down the cliff to the street, but only very essential things due to the low capacity.
