Left & Right Arrow Keys: Walk around. Up & Down: Make SpongeBob look up and down. Space: Jump. Wait 8-10 Seconds: SpongeBob blinks. 0: Play damage animation. 1: Play death animation. 2/3: Mess around with the audio. Has no purpose, but hey. 4: Play Jelly Fields Theme (if not playing). 5: Play the GBA version of Sandy's Treedome (experimental). You can click the items, but they currently have no purpose.
1-24-2026 I have had no plans to really update this project further to be honest, it's just a lame animation engine with very minimal movement PINNED NOTE: -This engine is intended for 60fps. I would recommend playing it here: https://turbowarp.org/653876928?fps=60 -This is not a copy and paste of the game's source code to Scratch. This is just an early demo of things that are sooner to come. SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge is a 2D platformer based on the cartoon, notable for having its entire development cycle, not limited to source code, concept art, and a massive amount of prototypes pertaining to both the PlayStation and GBA versions, leaked onto the internet. Twice. It was released for the PlayStation on November 5, 2001 and for the Game Boy Advance on November 8, 2001. The Game Boy Advance version was also released on a Twin Pack cartridge bundled with SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman and a Triple Pack cartridge bundled with Tak and the Power of Juju and Rugrats: I Gotta Go Party in 2005. It is the second SpongeBob game released on PlayStation, after Nicktoons Racing, which features SpongeBob, Patrick, and Plankton as playable characters. The PlayStation version of SuperSponge sold 1.06 million copies, becoming one of the console's best-selling games. The game was later reissued for the PlayStation as a Greatest Hits title. NOTES: -Make animations 1.5x times fast, just like in SuperSponge -Add items (Added in UI, but have not implemented yet) -Fix many bugs with blinking -Add idle animations, although would be very annoying and painful to do since idle animations have 149 total frames (Have been successfully implemented in https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/654491459/) -Possibly make this into a full game, unless Scratch is very limited CREDITS: Nickelodeon (SpongeBob SquarePants) Climax (SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge) Stephen Hillenburg (Creator of SpongeBob SquarePants) Matt Simmonds (Composer of SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge's Soundtrack) Wikipedia & TCRF (for SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge's Description) Music: Jelly Fields/Sandy's Tree Dome/Downtown Bikini Bottom - Matt Simmonds (SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge) (PSX/GBA)
