Global Warming Movie Transcript ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Mysteries of Life with Tim and Moby. Tim and Moby are walking in the Arctic. Tim is wearing a coat, a scarf, and a hat, and Moby is wearing nothing. Moby : Beep! Tim : Yeah it is a bit hot in the summer in the Arctic. They stopped when they saw a polar bear eating garbage. Moby : Beep! Tim : Yeah, Moby! The polar bear is eating garbage! Tim : I feel so sad about it. Tim : Oh wait, I almost forgot about our letter. Moby : Beep, beep! Tim holds up a letter and reads : Dear Tim and Moby, what is global warming? Pedro. Tim : Hi, Pedro. Tim : So to begin with, global warming negatively affects the planet. Global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere.[ Moby : Beep, beep! Scene shows a graph with the amount of global warming for the past few years. Tim : Our planet has been heating up more and more for the past few years. Moby : Beep, beep, beep, beep! Tim : Oh yeah, I forget to mention that. Tim : So to name a few effects global warming stresses ecosystems through temperature rises, water shortages, increased fire threat, drought, weed and pest invasions, intense storm damage and salt invasion. Moby : Beep, beep! Tim : I know, that is a lot to remember. Tim : How is global warming caused? It is caused by increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, mainly from human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation and farming. Tim : There are also ways to slow down global warming like recycling, biking or walking, and most importantly move away from fossil fuels and use renewable energy. Moby : Beep, beep, beep! Moby made the Arctic like it is in winter. Tim : Moby! Don’t you know it is much colder in the Arctic at winter times!? I think I have to get double layers of coats! Moby : Beep!
