Credits to nyancat128 for uploading the character select screen background on YouTube that I was able to convert to GIF! Yes, I understand that Super Smash Bros. Melee actually has only 25 character icons, but there were 9 per row due to the higher resolution, and being limited to 480x360, I couldn't put any more than 7, even without the spacing, so instead, I put more rows, adding up to 33 character icons, leaving no space for anything else! (except two additional character icons) You can replace other characters if there is either no space, or you just want your own place. Updates have been moved to a comment in the stage as of September 15th, 2026.
