XC with Harmony Multi slide update Third update of the day! Motivation is crazy, I wish it was like this for my science home learning! Struck by Harmony ‘Harmony’ was the second horse I decided to bring on the course. She’s an excellent show jumper and pretty nice to ride so I decided to just go for it. After my whole Liberty experience I went to the barn to grab Harmony’s tack. We’ve been working on jumping with fillers so I hoped she’d be okay with the XC jumps. She’s older than some of my other eventers so she’s had some practice with XC, but what I had heard was she could be more tentative to try filled jumps. She went over the first jump like a queen, picking up her back feet nicely. Something Tee had had problem with earlier. I had worried it was strides, but it seems he might have been being a little lazy, *sigh*. The second was cleared as easily, both were pretty low. She barely had to look. On the third jump, one of my favorite (a carrot!), she pulled her head high in the approach, but still cleared it pretty nicely. On the start of the water trench she seemed pretty surprised by the water giving a few small bucks, but quickly turned back into her forward and calm self. Coming out she did it easily and didn’t act like a puppy about it like Tee. In the tightest combination in the course. With only two strides in between. She tripped when landing the first jump, to give her credit it was quite high, and instead of missing up the second jump too she pushed the two into one and had a nice large jump over the log oxer. I was quite surprised (and impressed) by her success fixing her mistake with barely any help from me. Once we got to the step up she was ready, there was about 600 meters between the combination and saw it coming. She seemed to enjoy this jump most going at it with a little more flare than she usually does. Once we arrived at the next water level she jumped in like a champ and cleared the fence easily, I don’t understand what people said about her and cross country? We cantered over to my favorite jump in the whole course. A keyhole. We popped in the middle easily and kept going on our way. The next jump was equally easy. The next keyhole she didn’t even look up over it. This pony is such a breeze! She also went perfectly through the stream, not jumping over it like the scaredy pony I will not name, sighhhhh. And why break the trend she must have thought jumping the last one perfectly! She may have beaten Tee’s time, which is surprising! That pony is speedy! I loved her work today! She got lots of treats when we got home! Credits @spockadoo - Lovely Harmony <3 @MythopianPegasus - Rider base, edited by me Me - Everything else
