Fireflyfortune isn’t pleased with how the nursery has been run recently. Not even a little bit. Kits are constantly scuffling with each other, warriors keep trying to slip kits out of camp, and Fireflyfortune is fuming. So, what does she do? Well, it wasn’t like anybody else was going to do it. Fireflyfortune decided to tighten up on the nursery, self-proclaiming herself as the “in-charge” figure of the kits. If nobody else was going to do it… well, it needs to be done. ~ Alright, so how exactly does this change your day-to-day life with your kit character? Well, there are ups and downs. Fireflyfortune wants kits to be healthy, happy, and safe. And so, the following list comprises all of the self-proclaimed authorities she will be (for lack of a better word) seizing. - Breaking up fights between kits - > This one is self-explanatory. If I ever see a thread where there are two kits fighting, I will roll to spy on it. If Fireflyfortune succeeds, I’ll have her step in and break up the fight. Yeah, I get it, aptitude is tempting, but kit safety is of high priority to Fireflyfortune. Now, I can’t /really/ break up the fights if you dont give firefly perms to enter the thread (fickle rules amiright) but if Fireflyfortune successfully spies on kits fighting, they’ll both be grounded until the next ceremony! - Facilitating kit games and tournaments - > Of course, if I’m going to be an annoying scratch kid and interfere with your apt grinding, I might as well pay the favor back a little. Fireflyfortune will take it upon herself to teach, referee, and organize kit game tournaments for the nursery, a convenient way of gaining apt should your kit participate! Plus, there might be some prizes! - Limitless roleplays - > Okay, so not /limitless/, but I can promise a lot of roleplays to any kit roleplayer who wants to interact with Fireflyfortune. Kit games? I’m down. Storytelling? Right on, dude. You want to grind some medic apt? How many threads do I start? I recognize I’m interfering with some reliable apt gaining methods, so I’m trying to offer alternatives. - Sneak out snitching - > Get out your tomatoes and start booing, because I will have Fireflyfortune attempting to spy on /every single sneak out thread/ to inform Silverfishstar of. Now, there’s a caveat. This will likely only include threads where a warrior is sneaking the kit out, because I don’t think I can spy on SRPs- who knows. Anyways, even if your kit survives, you’re now running the risk of Fireflyfortune catching and reporting the warrior for so recklessly taking your character out of camp. - Grounding kits - > Okay, this one’s a bit more of a roleplay mechanic for you guys to have fun with, but Fireflyfortune will be taking this opportunity to punish misbehaving kits with nursery confinement. Does this actually do anything OORP? Not really. But, if you want your kit to get in a bit of trouble, this provides a way to do that. - Storytime - > Probably once a week (similar to a ceremony) I’ll have Fireflyfortune tell the nursery a story. Of course, these stories will probably follow a predictable pattern: There’s danger, and an unlikely hero goes to face the danger. Kits eat that up, right? Firefly’s hope with these stories is that they’ll inspire kits to do great things, and to stay loyal to the clan that raised them (ooh possible character arc ooo). Of course, interacting with these story threads is optional. ~ Alright, alright, I hear the questions. I’ll address the anticipated FAQ as thoroughly as I can. Q) “Tathan, do you even have permission to do this?” A) Yeah, I do, but you can still report Fireflyfortune to Silverfishstar if you’re upset. Q) “Tathan, how am I supposed to get aptitude if you’re going to have Fireflyfortune breaking up kit fights?” A) There are lots of ways to gain aptitude that /don’t/ involve kit injury. Fireflyfortune will gladly facilitate kit games, allow playfights, and try to help kits make friends, but she doesn’t want to see any of the nursery kits hurt. Q) “You can’t just allseeingpaw kits getting snuck out by warriors; how would you report them?” A) Spying! If Fireflyfortune is caught, you’re clear and she gains no information from the thread. If not… well, pack your bags, because Mossclan law says no sneaking kits out.
