The world widens its eyes as news comes back from the frontlines of the War in Karakia. Mass civilian casualties inflicted in Oblaski, roughly 3 days after warning was issued to its citizens; ~20 guided 2000 lb. bombs were unleashed upon the city's western flank, targeting artillery parks and fortified bunkers. The city's west-facing defensive line is essentially shattered along the M43 Highway East, several dozen high-rise apartment and multi-purpose buildings, fortified barracks, command centers, logistics posts, civilian factories, steel mills, and one of two major power plants were rendered ineffective and/or structurally unsafe, leaving the city reliant on its coal power plant. Route 43 out of the city remains extremely clogged by civilian vehicles, along with the national railway, and inter-city metro. Flooding is afflicting the slums on the south outskirts in the city, along with stray electrical fires, and delayed explosions from debris interacting with sunken gas lines. A 9K38 Igla MANPADS was fired against the B-52 as it returned to base, damaging one of its rear stabilizers and ultimately having little effect on the bomber.
