Chapter 10 - New friend. Or more? “Bye mum!” Nora walked through the door. Suddenly someone she recognised walked by her. “Oh hi! I saw you on Halloween? Are you a therian aswell?” he asked. “Yes!” Nora said in shock. “Calico cat, suppose you are too,” he said. Nora nodded. “I think I have a mate in my dreams,” She said, not knowing why she said that suddenly. “Heh, me too. We always seem to be laughing!” he blushed. “My mate does that with me too,” Nora shyly said. “And we are usually by the river!” they said at the same time. “Uh… See you at break!” Nora turned red, changing the subject. Nora started to walk away “Yeah.. sure!” He was thinking. “Oh I didn’t catch your name!” Nora shouted, running back. “I’m Jack! I also use Patches,” he said. “I’m Nora, but I use Gale as my cat name.” Chapter 11 - Realisation Nora walked home, her mind buzzing. She knew it. She knew what happened. Jack was her mate in his and her pastlife. She decided to listen to ‘1000 years’, since it kinda symbolises how they died in their pastlife, and Patches waited to die to meet with Gale in the human world. It was an awkward thing to say - going up to a friend and saying you think they were mates. It would take time. She reached the door and hesitated. She looked at her phone. ‘Mum - I’m at the gym, feel free to go for a walk.’ popped up. She texted her mum to say she would go on a walk to the park. She realised she had the class chat, and Jack was in the same class as her, so she decided to tell him if he was available to go on a walk at the park. He replied yes, so she went to the park. Chapter 12 - the truth “So… Jack,” Nora steadied herself up. “I-I m think I found something out. We… We could have been mates in our past life,” she stuttered, blushing. “I do think so too,” Jack replied. They held hands, blushing. “We’re just two calico cats, in a human world, wishing to come back to our bodies. Anyways, here, take my headphones, listen to this. I thought the song 1000 years symbolises how you waited for yourself to die after I did,” Nora said, giving him her headphones. “I guess, when I had a dream, I walked to where you sheltered, sniffing your scent and then you were there - dead. It’s pretty sad. I’m pretty sure that I died of starvation a year later, because our humans passed.” Jack explained. They sighed.
