[English] Invisible Math: Hidden in Plain Sight ----- What if math wasn’t just about solving equations or a subject we take in school? What if math was a way of seeing the world? Math is often hiding in plain sight, even if we don’t always notice it. It’s in the beat of your favorite song, the patterns on your clothes, the symmetry of a butterfly’s wings, the bounce of a ball, and even in the way you share a pizza. It’s in nature, in the games we play, in the artwork we create, in our hobbies, and in our communities. Wait... that’s math?! When we slow down and look closely, we can find math in all kinds of surprising places. This studio invites you to explore math that exists in your world. Start with something you love, do every day, or are curious about and then create a project that explores the hidden math you uncover and help other Scratchers notice it too! Looking for ideas to get started? Create interactive artwork inspired by patterns or shapes you notice in plants, animals, clothing, architecture, or somewhere completely unexpected. Make a game, animation, or music project that plays with beats, rhythms, patterns, timing, or sound waves. Create a project about the arc of a football, the angles of a basketball shot, the speed of a runner, the distance something travels, or even the chances of your favorite team winning. Write a story about a new chef learning how important accurately measuring ingredients and scaling portions can be when cooking or baking. Make an escape room game where you need to solve mathematical riddles in order to win. Create a room-designing game where players use shapes, distances, or x and y coordinates to decorate the room. Take your project outside and explore hidden math in nature such as the symmetry of a flower, the path of a shadow, or patterns in weather, etc. Find math in something you love. Whether it be gaming, dancing, drawing, fashion, sports, music, or whatever else is most exciting to you, all of these things have math hiding in plain sight. Pick something you love and see what math you can uncover! Remember, these are only suggestions and your project doesn’t have to look like a math assignment to fit into the studio! Math is all around us and it might be hiding somewhere you’ve never thought to look before. You are welcome to come up with your own ideas or remix inspiration from other projects already in the studio. What will you create? =^..^=
