I wasn't planning on sharing this, BUT! It's been forever since I've shared art on here and I'm really proud of this one. Meet Reithe (pronounced "ray-huh") and Rygat, characters from a project me and a few of my friends are working together (we're currently calling said project "Runas SMP", though the name may change in the future). I find this pair absolutely adorable and I just had to draw them because omg- A lil about these two, because I love them: Rygat was actually once a god named Astraea (they/them/theirs), God of Creativity. Astraea's court were their Pillars of Creativity, among them being Reithe's ancestor, Adromeda, Pillar of Architecture. Astraea's divinity, soul, and body are split in three, their body being laid to rest and eventually giving out. Their soul does not finish the usual journey a free soul takes, though still remaining in the End, which in our story is the realm of the dead. Their divinity remains in the Palace of Creativity, their home in the Overworld. Astraea is made a new body, a vessel, by Ornata, Goddess of Death. After around 1,000 years (give or take), Astraea's soul bonds to this vessel, which is the size of a small child. Astraea does not remember who they are, taking on the identity of a human girl, as that is how the vessel is perceived. She very quickly meets Itova (a tall woman with dragon-ish features), Reithe, and Reithe's wife Róisín (roh-sheen) after digging her way out of the tomb Astraea was laid to rest in. Itova takes the small child in (she doesn't have an actual name at this point), Reithe heals her wounds. Itova eventually nicknames the child "Moxt Rygat", draconic for "little chaos", simply calling her Rygat. Rygat and Reithe become very close very fast, which, in a way, complicates things when Rygat begins taking on the powers she once had as Astraea, specifically the ability of adaptability (things like learning languages, body physically changing to fit in or conform to a specific group). Reithe and Róisín are members of the Still, strongly devoted followers of the very god that k1lled Astraea, Antithesis, God of Stagnation (to the Still, God of Peace). This causes Rygat to feel sick when around the two of them as she comes into her power of adaptability, particularly strong around Reithe, as she is descendant of one of Astraea's closest friends. (Now, I feel like should mention Reithe and Róisín are genuinely good people. The icky sick feeling isn't exactly their fault.) Rygat doesn't blame them though, as she doesn't know what's going on (everyone eventually chalks it up to allergies). Reithe and Rygat, as of yet, are written to stay close throughout the entire storyline (and I highly doubt that will change), especially after Rygat becomes Astraea again, regaining their divinty. Astraea will tell Reithe about her ancestor and the woman she was.
