(This is very long; sorry in advance) (You can skip this speech) (click to see map) On this day of great treachery, the Great Lakes Union was attacked with barbaric force by the Army and Air Forces of the Free State of [the] Golden Circle. Our Union was at peace with the Free State and was looking to maintain a balance of peace and prosperity for our peoples. It will be recorded that the proximity and position of the targets struck by [the] Golden Circle makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. The attacks today have led to overall minor damage to our military installations, yet tragic lives were lost in our villages, towns, and cities, which were victims of the resurgent ideas of southern nationalism. Eight score and sixteen years ago, our forefathers joined up in the cause of freedom and liberty for all, and in the spirit of righteousness, marched down to the south for the cause of freedom. No matter what hardships may face our way, WE THE PEOPLE, in our absolute might, will fight to achieve absolute victory. With our faith in the American People's Liberation Army, the American People's Air Force, and the resilient and invincible determination of our people, we will gain the ultimate victory against our aggressors. So help us, God. ------------RP------------- (Home Front) We immediately issue a general mobilization order for 1.5 million men, about 2% of our population, and take proper care to train them in matters of modern warfare and arm them, before sending them to the already stationed 500,000 on the front lines. This brings our total manpower to 2 million men (3% of our population out of 52.5 million). We also begin a total shift into a war economy, with civilian production and our workforce being shifted towards the defense industry, ensuring that any losses we incur can be quickly replaced. We also begin a massive propaganda effort, galvanizing our populace with fiery images of a new crusade of freedom against the treacherous rebels, mirroring the American Civil War of 1861-1865, with these messages being spread to the Golden Circle via the internet and secretive distribution. We also begin shoring up our defenses at home, protecting our key infrastructure, such as roads, power plants, dams, etc., using a variety of means, whether that be sentries against saboteurs, Anti-Air batteries (including NASAMs, THAAD, and Patriot missile defence systems) against missile attacks, or whatever else is required for a solid defense. We also ensure our networks are properly secured, having our cybersecurity department always on the watch for any digital threats that might cripple us. (War) We immediately retaliate by targeting infrastructure in the Golden Circle. Using a series of M270 MLRS, HIMARS, and GMARS equipped with either ATACMS or PrSM tactical ballistic missiles reaching Mach 3 and 5.5 respectively in their terminal stages of flight, and drone swarm(s) of LUCAS UAVs, we strike the North Anna Nuclear Generating Station with 24 ballistic missiles and 61 UAVs, with the UAVs attempting to use the surrounding elevation to block radar signals from Anti-Air (if any) that they find there. We will also strike the Dominion Surry Power Station in the same manner and with the same tactics, using 26 ballistic missiles and 63 UAVs. Together, these plants produce about 40% of Virginia's electricity and 90% of its carbon-free electricity in the state, which would cripple morale for its civilians and also cause severe energy problems for their military forces. In order to prevent Golden Circle counterbattery fire, we utilize scoot-and-shoot tactics, arriving at the firing area, setting up for about 30 seconds, firing, then getting outta there. The whole process can take less than 3 minutes, leaving little time for Golden Circle forces to react. We also plan subsequent strikes on the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Brunswick Nuclear Plant, and McGuire Nuclear Station in North Carolina, primarily with PrSMs and LUCAS UAVs in the same manner as the strikes before, as those three plants produce about a third of the state's electricity irl, and this effect would be slightly larger as the Golden Circle doesn't own the whole of North Carolina. We begin immediate counterattacks on current Golden Circle gains, using armored spearheads in conjunction with air and artillery support in order to wear down Golden Circle troops, aiming to disrupt their chain of command, supply depots, and other infrastructure required to maintain a cohesive war effort, with particular emphasis on using FPVs to target logistics. We also take proper countermeasures against drones using jammers and mobile jammers, while also training our army in anti-drone tactics. Our own logistics and command networks are designed to be protected as much as possible from any threats, ensuring a competent flow of supplies to the front while also repairing any roads or other infrastructure damaged. Once the time presents itself, we launch an assault across the front using proper assault tactics against all prepared enemy positions, with integrated fire and air support providing useful support for assaulting units. Once they have broken past the initial frontline, they pursue attacks against enemy logistics, command centers, and supply hubs but do so carefully, ensuring no spearhead gets encircled from over-ambition. In order to handle enemy artillery, we use a variety of recon systems, whether that be air, drones, GPS, whatever, to examine where their initial firing positions are, and if we can't find that exactly, then we can analyze the pattern of their logistics trains, then see where they always head to. These will be fired upon by either artillery or targeted by short-range surface-to-surface missiles. In order to challenge enemy air superiority, we begin setting up massive amounts of anti-air defences, utilizing MANPADs, SAMs, NASAMs, Patriots, and other systems to create a no-fly zone, ensuring that any enemy aircraft that take off will soon be tracked by an anti-air system. If needed, we also utilize swarm tactics during attacks on strategic and tactical targets, overwhelming SAM systems and point-defense AA, ensuring that sufficient damage is dealt. Utilizing many advancements in cyberwarfare, we engage in heavy signal jamming, radar spoofing, and cyberattacks in order to disrupt communication, navigation, and sensor fusion networks. We do not need to gain total air superiority yet; we just need to ensure the enemy cannot. We also utilize a system of dozens of airbases to ensure that there isn't a big target for them to bomb, whilst also installing sufficient air defenses around them. Perhaps most importantly, we set up massive AA networks across the nation, so that ship-launched missiles will have a harder time getting through our defenses. Finally, in any territories we gain, particularly in West Virginia, we begin a PR campaign of sorts among the populace, administering humanitarian aid where it is needed most and making sure not to purposefully endanger civilians.
