Prologue Crystalstar padded along the thunderpath, “Crystalstar?” A voice said behind her, “What are you doing out this late?” Crystalstar whipped around and found herself facing a large, gray, short-haired cat. “I might as well ask the same for you, Stonefall.” Stonefall didn’t react. “I’m your deputy, Crystalstar, you can tell me anything.” She sighed, “I’m going to the highstones.” “Highstones…? Why? Is everything okay?” Crystalstar sighed again, “Darkshimmer has been acting unlike herself lately and… I’ve had visions from StarClan. Have you noticed that?” Stonefall paused, “I have noticed both Darkshimmer and Glidingfeather are acting… unusual. What’s more important, though, is your visions from StarClan.” Crystalstar inhaled loudly, “Do you smell that?” Stonefall breathed in the icky scent around him, making a face before a surprised look shown on his face, “It almost smells like mint leaves! I’ve never noticed that before.” Crystalstar inhaled once again, “You’ve never noticed it before because it’s only here when the moon is highest, the night is darkest, and Silverpelt is brightest. Something is coming, Stonefall, and I know what to do.”
