Yep, the title says it all. So basically, Hi, Friend is sort of a redemption album. Some of the 14 tracks (plus a bonus track) were first completed in 2024 and were meant to be part of other albums, but I decided to merge a bunch of these tracks into one thing and build off of that. To make the album, I decided to throw a wrench into my usual style and employ a much more lighthearted tone onto the album. I wanted to use repetitive loops, conventional song structures, analog equipment, and as few samples as possible. This creates a sort of minimalist vibe I was going for during the Hi, Friend sessions. I also avoided collabs, though I did put something with @May_Auralis on there somewhere. As per the name "Hi, Friend", that's just something one of my friends used to greet people. I chose this name specifically because it creates an inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of the album's intended sound. The cover artwork ditches the cube I usually put on my other releases. Instead, it's just a thermal image of one of my cats, since thermography is one of my many interests. The back does not have a tracklist since I typically wanted to keep what's on Hi, Friend a surprise for the actual release date. The album comes out on October 16. I'm super excited to finally release this album after so much time I've spent making it and the amount of support I've received up to this point. It's my favorite thing I've produced, and I feel very proud of what it's turned out to be.
