After the collapse of the U.S., the State of Illinois has faced many hardships throughout the ensuing economic depression. Its economy, heavily dependent on its exports, especially agricultural products, would be hit hard. Crime would ensue in population centers, spurred on by anarchy and political division. We request that Illinois peacefully integrate into the G.L.U, by a 75% referendum. If they join, they stand to gain: -Economic boosts under a more moderate socialist system, targeting the manufacturing industries as well as white-collar jobs. In addition, subsidies are also planned to help farmers and to spur on other beneficial government programs such as affordable housing, cost-of-living increases, and inflation. -A measure of political, religious, and economic autonomy similar to how the states functioned under the USA, though with slightly larger federal oversight -And economic stability and a common defense against the powers that be. -We will also make Chicago the Capital of the G.L.U
