Aang is a bit unhappy with the ranking XD Note: I DON'T LIKE "zutara" I love the two characters individually. Since my thoughts on Aang didn't fit into the project, I wrote them here: Aang was constantly putting things off; yet, when he was backed into a corner at the end of the series, the writers essentially did him a huge favor by suddenly conjuring up the Lion Turtle and the concept of "energybending" as the finale approached. Although the sequel comics show Zuko paying the price for Aang's refusal to kill Ozai, the original series portrayed Aang as someone who resolved everything flawlessly while remaining true to his philosophy effectively forcing the audience to accept that his choice was the right and perfect one. Furthermore, while Aang wouldn't kill a monster like Ozai, he nearly killed Zuko in the sequel comics -were it not for Katara’s intervention- simply because he thought Zuko was becoming like his father. But, of course, he was wrong; Zuko turned out to be right. Because Ozai remained alive, numerous Fire Nation nationalist groups formed to defend him, and Zuko faced constant assassination attempts. Yet, the main series concluded as if everything had worked out perfectly, expecting us to say, "Yes, Aang did something wonderful; by staying true to his philosophy, he found the right path." In reality, however, it wasn't Aang who fixed the situation, but the writers who gifted him the Lion Turtle at the last minute. While every other character had to bear the consequences of their actions, Aang was usually given a pass. Furthermore, if Aang was good enough to show mercy even to Ozai, he shouldn't have decided Ozai's punishment on his own. After all, this matter doesn't concern only him. He is the Avatar, not a king. But actually, the REAL problem isn't that Aang makes mistakes, but that NOTHING happens as a result of them.
