This is just my simple way to add shading and lighting! Not good for a guide on how, but okay. Tool used, Kleki. Steps. in order: 1- do a basic outline. (i do this on a different layer.) 2- Pick and use a basic main color, this is the base, fill the line art! 3- use slightly darker shade of that color to do basic shading, this also shows the main sections of thicker or thinner fur. Also, with another darker shade, add thinner lines, going over both current colors, this is where the gaps in the fur are. 4- Use a blur tool (I use size 3, Opacity 55, Blend 43.) and add slightly darker marks, by the main shading, and at other parts of the fur. 5- get a color just lighter than the base one, and add basic lighting marks, remember to imagen where the light is coming from, and have a mix of thin and thick brush strokes. 6- Using a thinner brush, with an even lighter color, add details of lighting, near the middle/end of the fur, by/on the rest of the lighting. 7- this is just info of the colors i used i guess. 8- Don't use black for shading often, it stands out too much. 9- blend the lighting and shading slightly so its not so stark. 10- its done, I removed the outlines so it looks more natural too. have fun, and remember to try edit it and make it in your own style. -Jay, watching murder drones as she draws.
