Lyrics: The Toybox Lyrics (Stupendium) [Intro] You are about to see the most incredible doll ever invented Her name is Poppy And she is the first truly intelligent doll in the world [Verse 1] Come take a tour behind the doors where dreams are made Where boys and girls around the world can come to play Where you'll see entertainment, innovation on display Though you can't escape the fun, imagination runs away There's no better place to spend All your days and play pretend No, you won't be on your own 'Cause you can always make a friend So on us, you can depend That the fun will never end 'Cause we're much too plush to break But just maybe we could bend Then the lights went down and the doors stayed closed And the toys soon found they were on their own So as silence fell on their factory home Well, they climbed from shelves and began to roam Now you may think we're just playthings Sitting, wasting and decaying We've been waiting every day since You made graves out of our casings We were made for entertaining So forgive us for complaining All you left for us to do Was spool through tapes of safety training [Pre-Chorus] Trapped in the factory, what a calamity Banished to languish in cramped bits of packaging Plastic all cracked and fragmented and rattling Tangled and matted and batteries flattening Warranty voided and sanity vanishing Stitches have split and our minds are unravelling Left us abandoned but now you've come back and We've banked up the hugs, so come get some love [Chorus] Out of the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox [Spoken Word] A little girl can talk to her Poppy gives her answers She is the first doll actually able To have a conversation with a child Hard to believe? Just watch (I love you!) [Verse 2] 'Cause we're destined to be best friends You and I, from the second you stepped in You give me butterflies in my tummy As my hugs mulch your intestines Give a high five to the big guy And a big hand to yourself Now your arms are long enough To slap boxes off the shelf But if you think that gloves and string are really going to help We're wondering what other limbs can be detached as well Don't think that toys have got things to say, then? Look at these points of articulation Pull on my string, have a conversation Oh, so you think we're abominations? Look who made us, then betrayed us Left to must and dust for ages Rusting, stuck in cardboard cages Memories fade as rage replaces What we were, our former names We aren't quite sure from where we came But someone must have worked here once And now they're gone and we remain [Pre-Chorus] All we know is how to play, play, play, play, play Then you took the play away, way, way, way, way Three-and-up is what they say, say, say, say, say Now we're into playing way more dangerous games Wind it up, watch it spin All the lies come 'round again Close your eyes, count to ten You can't hide from your friends [Spoken Word] And if you've ever wanted to see How all of the nation's favorite toys were created Playtime Co. is now offering factory tours at just $2.99 a person What time is it? (It's playtime!) [Chorus] Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox [Bridge] So take a tour where all the dreams have gone to die Where just some AAs can make your nightmares come to life Where imagination paved the way to suffering and strife It's a play-date with destiny we've yet to see survived Take those tin toys from the attic Bring those dolls down from the loft Take your old friend out and ask if they resent their resting spot They may just be some plastic They may look stuffed and soft They'll still put you in a casket But you won't be mint in box [Chorus] Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Now we're crawling out the toybox Ready or not, we'll find you [Outro] Huggy's long, huggable arms may present a choking hazard Ready or not, we'll find you
