I walk into the main lobby, expecting to see my friends, the other mains. No one is there. Weird, it’s usually so busy in here. I scan the area, hoping to see at least a sign of my friends. Still no one. Well, It’s fine! They don’t always need to be in my line of sight!... I walk around Gardenview, searching for them, until I find them in… Oh, Astro’s room. I was hoping they weren’t in here, but it’s fine! I’m not in control of them! They’re their own toon!... Yet sometimes, just sometimes, I wish I were in control of them. I know it’s not right to think of my friends like that, but I just can’t help it! But enough of that! I should go say hi… “Hello there, friends!” I chirp as I walk towards them. They don’t notice me at first, which is fine! I’m just a bit… Upset! “Uh, did you all hear me?...” I stand in front of them now. They still don’t turn to look at me. Okay, now that’s a bit… Annoying. They all seem to be talking to one person: Cocoa. That stupid chocolate bunny… I mean! I don’t think she’s stupid! Gosh, why did I think that?... I try to get their attention one more time; third time's the charm, right? “Hello, my friends!” Finally, after trial and error, they noticed me. They only looked for a split second before turning back to… Her. Why does everyone love her so much? What about me? I’m a MAIN! I should be the center of attention! Everyone’s eyes should be on me. I leave. Not like they’d even notice, right? I’m an inconvenience. I’m just a toon. Wait, what am I saying? No, no, my friends care about me…! “If they cared, how come you’re not with them chatting right now? Hm?” Who said that?- Oh, it was him. How annoying. Just the person I didn’t want to run into. “What do you want now, Astro?” Astro followed me to my room. The walk was… Uncomfortable, to say the least. When we got to my room, he followed me in… Wait, what? “Astro,” I began. “Why did you follow me all the way into my room? It’s… Weird.” He just chuckled in response. God, was that moon weird. Weirder than any toon I know. “Bassie, dear, I have a… Deal for you…” I turned to face him, the first time since he started following me. I then noticed how pretty his star eye was. Did it always shine so bright? Or was it only this night that it might? I guess I wouldn’t know. “You see… I sense potential in you that others don’t. You could be so much more than what others give you credit for… I could help you reach that potential.” He grins at me as the words flow out of his mouth like a river. As if practiced. As if… It was made for me. The thought itself is… Unthinkable. Sure, I mean, I knew I was always wishing for something… More… “What are the conditions?” I wasn’t going to walk in there like a blind man. No, I want to know every little detail about this. I stared at him; he stared back. It was like he could read me like a book and flip my pages. Like he knew what I was thinking at all times. It’s unsettling how well he could tell what I was feeling.
