Chapter 17: Death from Below Wasted battle plan! There is no sign of victory! On the darkest hour, of the quietest night. Valiant Dagger was ordered to fire a warning shot against the direction of the unknown ship. It was intended to miss, but it didn't show anything it did however triggered Dynasty submersible craft 021, it surfaces. The now exposed sloop of war quickly gets locked by the submarine's targeting system. A loud shrieking roar bursts into the night sky as purple rockets bursts to the air, damaging the small ship, it tried to fire back at the submersible, but it was useless. Another volley of rockets were fired by the submersible craft and the Valiant Dagger is in ruins. The fleet is unaware of the submersible crafts present thinking it was just some rafts, since it was nothing Iike what they ever faced. Another sloop, the Galenomatic with experimental weapon system fired her plasma charges. Initially built to disrupt fleets these weapons explode inside the water, they thought that it would disrupt the unknown attacker, right now the submersible looks like a raft with a rocket launcher. The charges were fired, splashing through the water before exploding in a flash of orange, the submersible is damaged but still mostly fine. Sea Hawk fired a broadside at the Galenomatic and the entire formation from both sides has been exposed, one ship of the Empress against five of Ney Mortier's fleet. The six submersible crafts five deep, becoming invisible ghosts that could haunt the battle bay sending rocket barrages before hiding back in the water, but one kill team from Submersible craft 038 using Voidshift teleported into the Galenomatic's gun deck, five Rencong Voidguards and four Dynasty skirmishers stormed the deck, Voidguards swing their glaive to try and disable any cannons and cut down crew while Dynasty Skirmishers use their new pistols, firing Scatterblast fire that devastate enemies in close range. For a while they seem like they could take over the Galenomatic, but a Voidguard accidentally detonated the entire gun deck, and the Galenomatic along with her four hundred crew and nine Dynasty troops from the Voidshift kill team all instantly vanish. The Sea Hawk trades fire with the Garde Mortis ships, one by one falling victim towards the submersible crafts. On the second hour of the quietest night, all six Garde Mortis ships are destroyed with the Sea Hawk and Submersible craft 021 sustaining little damage, Submersible craft 042 suffers non-combat related failure, forcing it to surface and it's crews are evacuated to the Sea Hawk. The craft was then towed by the Sea Hawk and after realizing they have been sailing in the wrong direction, they quickly correct their course to set more north, aiming for Horatio. The Garde Mortis, confused as they lost an entire naval squadron. Ney Mortier thought that there is a beast or natural disaster, they do not know that the Triumph was sunk by rocket racks and broadsides from the Dynasty's ships. Submersible craft 021 sunk two ships, Sea Hawk sinking one, submersible craft 016 sunk in two, 038 damaged one, before the target ship was sunk by the Sea Hawk. The Dynasty fleet arrived in Horatio's ports a few days too late. Nelson greeted them happily, not knowing that they sunk six ships arriving there. The only thing they told Lord Nelson was that they failed to find another continent. Nelson then ordered Horatio's engineers then proceeds to repair 042, the submersible craft's crew really appreciated Nelson's help. He also gave the Dynasty troops a few weapon from the Glacier tribes meant to be given to the Palace Guards as a gift and they would surely enjoy it. Then the entire fleet set sail back to the mainland, the mission failed but the Palace Guards will be happy with their new gifts. Words of the Glacier tribe's capitulation finally reached the Tsarist army and the Glacier troops are furious. Their own homeland has fallen to Horatio and Lord Nelson and the Tsardom didn't do anything to stop the invasion, the Tsar liberate the Vampiric Commonwealth but couldn't even risk a single troop against Horatio, when asked Tsar answered "Horatio is not worth fighting, your nation failed from the start and we cannot fight in two fronts." Yet now they are forced to risk their own lives, marched of very long distances, abandon their own homeland meaning they're not able to defend their own country yet forced to risk their lives to fight the enemy of the Tsar, not even informed that their own country has collapsed. This is unacceptable they try to leave and when the Black Guards threatened with execution the Glacier troops opened fire, the Rehnskold mutiny ended with twenty Black Guards destroyed and twenty damaged with ninety Glacier troops destroyed, the rest escaping on Dragoon's and cavalry horses. The entire Tsarist invasion is delayed by possibly weeks.
