"......The Indieverse, in many people's eyes, it's the place where everyone's deepest hopes and dreams can be achieved. They can create WHATEVER worlds they could ever DREAM of, hire people of similar like-minded ness to help them achieve said dream, and bring into the world a masterpiece, underrated or critically acclaimed alike, that would stay in the hearts of its fans for GENERATIONS to come. All while being voided of the usual company policy and deadlines that traditional games and show workers have to follow. The Indieverse, on the surface, looks like the ideal place where people can just, BE themselves, and FINALLY get to show off just what they are TRULY capable of. But...... it isn't just all sunshines and rainbows..... Even in the Indieverse, even Toxicity still spreads far and wide, people get annoyed from things they don't agree with or like, annoyance turns to anger, anger leads to annoyance, and annoyance...... leads to toxicity. Toxicity exists in all forms, and can affect, all kinds of people, from all kinds of Indie communities. From the big names such as Glitch Productions and Vizie's HB world, (Can't say the full thing else this gets taken down) to the smallest ones that we all might not even know about yet. Toxicity spreads far and wide, and is deadly when it goes too far. Now you may be wondering, "How do these people usually get this toxic in the first place?" Well my friends, I think it's about time we get reintroduced to some of the main issues people have with these indie studios in the first place. First and foremost, WHEN one of these indie shows become a huge hit with it's fans, the creators, most of the time, create merchandise as a way for the fans to get an ACTUAL IRL piece of their favorite shows. But what alot of people take issue with, is that they are releasing FAR to much merchandise, trying to supposedly, "Milk the cash cow for all it's pennies." Take Glitch's "The Amazing Digital Circus" for example, they've release more merch for that show then ANY OTHER show so far. But the reason WHY they do so, is because those funds? They go to funding the OTHER shows they create, and the same can be said for the OTHER shows that sell their OWN merch aswell. They aren't trying to milk the value of the show's worth into oblivion, rather, they are trying to score the funds necessary to keep everything running. Another issue people have when it comes to merch in general, is how long it takes to ship it to them, and how good its quality is ONCE they receive it. Some comes in pristine condition and right on time, others..... come a little worse for wear and much later then expected. These creators either get the merch there right, or right, but not in the "right" way. But we all need to remember is that these indie studios are either smaller then bigger shipping companies, or just ONE person entirely! Mistakes happen, and we ALL just need to understand that they are trying their absolute BEST and HARDEST to deliver to their fans the hopes and dreams they sought out for in the first place. No matter what merch is or how we get it, what matters is that we now have it in our hands, and that our money that we spent goes towards funding the next episode of our favorite show. Now BEFORE said merch is created, these shows need to exist in the FIRST place. Usually these Pilot episodes take months or even YEARS to produce and release in the first place. And ONCE they do and become iconic and popular in the first place, comes, the waiting......long, winded, waits. And these waits usually annoy people ALOT, since, well we can all be honest with ourselves can we? We've all been there one way or another, just grinding our teeth is we wait day, after day, after day for the next episode to come out. And eventually, we can't just take it anymore, but we all can't just vent our frustration at the staff because of that. These creators, unlike traditional big company creators, don't have the worry's of time crunch or deadlines like the others have. They have ALLLLLLL the time in the world to perfect their work, and tell the tales that they WANT to tell. And most important of all, they all have LIFES to live, sometimes things happen or get in their way, and sometimes we, the fans, have to send our support to them so they can pull through, not send hate which will in turn make things worse. Take StarEevee's "Eeveelution Quest" series for example, that series is known to have YEAR long waits in between episodes. And I'm sure there's ALOT of people who are tired of all these said waiting periods. But we NEED to remember that Star is JUST a school student wanting to create a series that would resonate in its audience, Pokémon fans and non-Pokémon fans alike. People like Star, are one's we should be PROUD of, because they are utilizing their free time to create worlds and characters, that we, the fans, will recognize for MANY years to come.
EVEN if these shows come out, some people out there will just compare them to other shows that are either, better or worse then said show. But we shouldn't judge shows by what perceived them, rather we should look at them as growing moments for the creators themselves. As we can clearly see that their story telling, art, and animation have clearly grown with time, and dedication. Now, all of these issues can simply be solved with enough time and energy spent on them right? Wouldn't Toxicity be quelled by then when all's well and done? Well......you be wrong, because even THAT wouldn't stop the toxicity from spreading at all. No matter WHERE you look, or WHAT indie community you look further into, there's ALWAYS going to be a group of people who are toxic no matter what. They argue with people endlessly about things that they don't agree with that they do, they hurl insult after insult at tother fans OR the cast THEMSELVES for what they support or view. And sometimes even send D3A1H thr3a1s to the creators and Va's themselves! MANY examples of this exists no matter where you look. Vizie's HB world having one of the most toxic fanbases out there being a prime example. Or even people almost causing GooseWorx to abstract herself being another. No matter the fandom, and no matter how many TRUE fans are out there, there will always be toxic sour apples in the bunch, no matter what. This may all look dreadful, like there's no light at the end of tunnel for the hope that all of this will all just end one day. But light COULD be at the end of said tunnel, as long, as we all UNDERSTAND, one another. We all are HUMAN beings, at heart, and we all are intitled to our own personal opinion, be it ships, likes, dislikes, or anything else in between, we ALL have to right to say what WE view is right or wrong and series, and instead of arguing, we all should be working together to find that solution to solve the issue, no matter how big, or small it is. Take this other issue with merchandise, people usually complain that certain characters get WAY more merch, when the others BARELY get any. Instead of just venting our frustrations AT them, INSTEAD, we could all just list the reasons why these other characters should get more merch of their own. After some time they'll listen and the problem will solve itself basically! You see what I'm trying to say is, instead of complaining and just arguing with others, we should just listen to eachother, except eachothers opinions, and face these issues as a team, not as multiple unfunctional groups. I didn't simply write this message as a hope that all the toxicity will just end overnight. No, I wrote this as a way to shine more light on the issue at hand, one that has plagued the Indieverse for over a decade. I wrote this message as a call to attention, because this issue cannot be ignored for much longer, due to the fact that more people become affect by all of the Toxicity. And I wrote this as a message of UNDERSTANDMENT, one where we all can put our differences aside, take everything with a grain of salt, and finally understand everything from BOTH sides so we can see if our opinions were justified, or not. Flame me if you wish, but all I'm doing is showing people MY opinion on all the toxicity and other known issues in the Indieverse. And also as a reminder to EVERYONE, that these creators pour their bl00d, sweat, and tears into their work to create a world with RECONIZIABLE characters, with a dedicated team working to the BONE to make these visions come true. If we all just work together, listen to each others opinions, and just learn to coexist peacefully with them, we can FIGHT toxicity itself, and strive to live, ALL, as TRUE FANS! FOR THE WARRIORS WHO COME AFTER!!!!!!!!"
