“Azure…I’m getting tired.” Two Time yawned, leaning onto Azure’s shoulder. He smiled and gently ran his hand through their hair. “I saw an apartment complex around here somewhere. It was…I think south of here! The sign said it was cheap so maybe we can afford it with the 230 dollars we have left.” Azure sighed and stood up as Two Time rubbed their eyes. They smiled tiredly at him and stood up as well. They both began to make their way to the apartment building Azure mentioned. Their hands were intertwined as they swung their arms back and forth. Azure rambled on about Nighshades how some are poisonous for humans. Two Time listen per usual. They loved hearing his voice. They could listen to it all day if they could. They walked for about 30 minutes more before reaching where they were headed. It was a pretty nice looking place from the outside for being cheap. Azure quickly ran in front of Two Time so he could open the door for them. It was a small gesture that made Azure complete every time he did it. Two Time smiled and walked in. Azure followed close behind. The walls inside were a nice velvety red color. There was a small front desk right in front of the door with seating on both ends. Azure found it weird that the apartment complex looked like a hotel. A small ball sat on the left corner of the table, clearly used for people to get their attention. Azure walked up and gently tapped the bell. It was pretty loud for such a small one. He looked down a Two Time, who was once again picking at the faint scars and scabs on their arm, and smiled softly. It took a minute for Two Time to realize they were being looked at, but once they noticed, they smiled back. Faint footsteps could be heard in the distance. A lady popped out, looking annoyed. Her expression softened when she saw that it was customers. “Oh- oh, hello! Welcome!!” She smiled awkwardly and quite desperate for clients. The two both turned to each other then back to the lady. “Uh…I thought this was like an apartment complex. It doesn't look like it.” Azure pointed out, smiling nervously. The lady laughed to herself. “Oh, it is, but it’s more like a rent-a-apartment!” She sounded very confident. “...That exists?” Two Time questioned as they stood on their tip-toes to see completely over the counter since they’re short to see it while standing normally. The ladies smile faltered but then returned to normal. “Well, I made it up…so it does now!” Azure and Two Time just nodded. They didn’t want to make her more annoyed then she already seemed. “Uh, so can we get an apartment?” Azure asked as he took out the money that was in his pocket. “Of course you can, my dear clients! Just one?” She was slightly uneasy to be around but a roof to sleep under was all the two ex-c*ltists wanted. “Yeah, that’s good.” Azure paused for a moment before asking, “How much?” Two Time was now humming to themself, clearly not paying attention to what was going on. “For 5 nights, it’s fifty dollars. For a full 2 weeks its one hundred …!” She blinked as she waited for Azure’s response. “We’ll do the 2 weeks for one hundred.” He said, handing over the money. She open the black box, since she didn’t have a register, and plopped it in. “Here, room 4. It’s down the hall. I would show you, but I’m too lazy to do that right now.” She handed over the copper key to Azure and watched as the two of them departed from the lobby room. Once Azure and Two Time made it to their room, Two Time practically threw themselves on the bed while Azure sat their things down. “You know, you should at least change before sleeping, my nightshade.” Azure pulled out some clothes for Two Time to change into. “I’m pretty sure there’s a bathroom over there.” Two Time sighed and got up to get the clothes. “Yeah, I guess I’ll do that.” They then wandered off into the bathroom. Azure sat on the bed while he waited for Two Time to get out of the restroom so he could change as well. The door finally opened, revealing a sleepy and tired Two Time. “You can go now, my flower.” They smiled softly then plopped down face first on the bed. Azure just laughed then walked in the bathroom to change into much more comfortable clothes. When Azure got out of the bathroom, he noticed Two Time was practically asleep already. He didn’t want to wake them up so they quietly shut off the light and quickly got in bed. (3:36 AM) Two Time’s eyes shot open. They were in a cold sweat and terrified. They sighed when they realized it was just a dream. For about a week after Amarah had told Two Time to sacr!fice Azure, they’d been having terrible nightmares of what the night would have been like if they had gone through with it. They looked over at Azure to see him sleeping peacefully. They were glad they didn’t do it. Two Time didn’t know what they would do if their whole reason to l!ve d!ed in their arms because of them.
