☆ I'll probably add more as I make them I finally decided it's time to learn. I already know what goes into a good background, so I'm just winging these studies, not going off of any tutorials. At the end of each one, I'm pointing out my mistakes so I can avoid them in the next drawing. 1-7. Grayscales. Starting simple to get into the flow 8- painting 9- beach painting. I think I'm getting into my workflow. Personally, getting started on a background is really difficult- its just not as exciting as a character. So I start of with a low effort thumbnail before getting the clean shapes in. After that I go from big shapes to small and then I render (my favorite part) with these paintings, I'm letting myself color pick because I'm more focused on the technique of representing something in real life into a simplified painting. I feel like making myself yeball the colors puts too much cognitive load on me- I just need to understandthe pattern, not the exact color. For example, I can represent the seafoam as a white line, and then airbrush in a white color onto the water to show it fading back. These techniques are important because I can translate them into any painting with seafoam in it. 10-?
