This project is an extention of this project. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1386731906 While you don't need to read the entirety of that project for this one, please at least read the disclaimers. So I'm actually going to start off by saying that I don't fully know the entire reasoning behind why being on your phone is bad for you, but there are many books and probably websites on it if you are interested in finding out why and how it affects you. But I can tell you that you will feel a lot better when you step away from the internet for a little bit. So this project is about ways to get yourself to sit down that phone, as well as some stuff semi related to that. The first tip I'm gonna give is that you need something to do other than being on your phone. A thing you can do is make a list of any activity off screens you can think of on a sheet of paper, and when you don't know what to do, just refer to that instead of going on your phone. Some ideas are drawing, coloring, reading, doing an activity book, or making crafts out of beads. The second thing I wanted to talk about in this project is getting outside. Just being outside can make you feel a little better. I reccomend going on walks or playing in the woods if there are woods you're allowed in, just be careful not to stray far enough from the path you can't see the path. You can try building forts, making stuff out of grass and leaves, and even climbing trees if you're careful. If you don't have woods or trails nearby you can just sit on a step at your house or sit on a jacket in a yard and do stuff you would generally do inside but can still do outside, like drawing in a sketchbook or reading. The third thing I wanted to talk about is that when you are on the internet, you should generally avoid reading or viewing things that will make you feel bad, like vents or the news. You should also put yourself before random people on the internet. So if you're say making a comic for popularity, and you don't actually like making the comic, don't make the comic. Just try not to waste your own time, basically. I can't think of anything else I wanted to include in this project, so I'm probably gonna end it here. I might make a project on stuff you can do outside as part of the mental health improvement project series and just for funsies eventually, but for now it is the end of this project.
