So as you may have heard, Mario Kart tour is shutting down in a few hours, as of writing this. If you have never heard of Mario Kart Tour, it was a Free-to-play Mario Kart game for iOS and Android. It had rotating tours every 2 weeks that introduced new characters and courses to the game, and it was like that until about 2024, when they stopped doing new content and instead recycled it from old tours. This is about the time I stopped playing the game for a while. (Started sometime during the Mario kart 8 booster course pass) In spring 2026, I had free time at school, and decided to redownload the game on my new-ish phone. I played it a lot until summer (i had to restart though) It had all the classic mobile game quirks: spending real money to buy in-game cosmetics with a shop that changes everyday (think like the Fortnite item shop), it got its money from... a subscription service, (it didn't really do much though and all the perks would be added to everyone months following the shutdown), but none of those ads of royal match with the fake x that takes you to the app store (thankfully) Another reason I don't really like this is some people spent real money on this game (like I said before) and they are not getting an offline version or a refund.
Coming soon: PART 2: Sneaking my Nintendo Switch into school (Joke, don't, because you may get it taken from you. I only played this on my phone at school because my school has very lenient phone rules) IGN for the MKT art This project does not use AI for anything, including art, code, text, music, or ideas.
