When night falls, the city swallows its breath, transforming into a concrete desert. The streets don’t sleep; they starve. No human silhouette breaks the dark, for the population stays buried indoors, pulled into their devices. Outside, the silence is so heavy it suffocates, broken only by the sharp, scratch of rats scavenging through the shadows like tiny, ghosts. By day, the streets fill with humans still silent like zombies. A sea of bodies flows down the pavements, yet the city stays as quiet as a library. The only sound in this world is the occasional, thud a body colliding with a brick wall or wrapping around a metal pole. They stumble forward like puppets with tangled strings, their eyes chained to their phones it is a mass brainwashing, smooth and absolute. Society has decayed past the point of survival. The concrete has become a hunting ground where a person can collapse and die in broad daylight, yet the moving blank-eyed humans will simply step over the warmth of a fresh corpse without ever breaking their gaze. The air itself reeks of rot, heavy with the sweet, sickening perfume of decay. Houses have mutated into literal graves. No one buries the dead anymore; where a heart stops, the bones stay. The living and the dead share the same stifling rooms, both perfectly still, both staring into nothingness. In this sprawling cemetery of the plugged-in, everyone is a ghost bound by digital shackles. Everyone but me. I am the lone waking soul in a metropolis of sleepwalkers, a solitary witness to the end of the human heart. I am Erwin I was one one of the filthy scums that roam the city, but I do not know what happened, but somehow, I got free from the eternal prison of the phone. And I am the only one in this cursed world. Well, that is what I thought until Recently I noticed this slug like monsters devouring people that are entrapped by their phones, no struggle, no noise, no resistance just acceptance. But that is the problem the slugs do not attack randomly if you go right in front of them, they will not do anything it is like they have some type of order they attack people in.
