ngl ts was pretty rushed OPERATION THANKSGIVING ____________________________ - continued air campaign across all fronts, utilizing F-4 phantom IIs, U2 spy planes (how we got all this info) and XB-70 North American Valkryie bombers (our pride and joy, literally capable of going Mach 3 and dropping payload from 70,000 feet, should easily outclass anything the soviets had) - light bombing campaigns over Turkish and Israeli advances in syria and hatay, using unmarked flags to confuse Israeli and turkish troops, supplied from British cyprus - newly developed humvees deployed en masse - Ground troops, including infantry, mechanized, and motorized divisions deployed to Greece, offensive into Plovdiv and Sofia - offensive into Eastern Thrace and European Turkey, threatening Istanbul. This will be a light invasion that is meant as a diversion from crete - crete liberation, with forces from Peloponnese we send a large force to Kissamos and Chania to spearhead to Heraklion, with help from the British, French, Italian, Greek, and Danish navies (pretty much all of NATO/EATO) - NATO/EATO offensive into Albania to cut off Soviet supplies to the Taranto front, second biggest part of Operation Thanksgiving - NATO/EATO counterattack into Taranto, Bari, and Palermo, meant to deter the Soviet invasion quick while it is still in its initial and unorganized stages - NATO/EATO navies battle for the Adriatic, cut off Soviet navies in Palermo and use submarines to cut off both reinforcements, supplies, and men
roleplay: _____________________ The United States is in a condition that requires immidiate military action to her NATO, or now EATO allies. Recent Turkish aggressions near Greece and Italy have been some cause for alarm, but now that the Russians have landed in Southern Italy, this has raised major concerns that the United States must divert her attention to. For starters, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is now the Eurasian Treaty Organization, to allow the entrance of its new members, Saudi Arabia and the United Hashemite Kingdom of Arabia, or Jordan-Palestine. With these new relations we hope to secure newly found allies in the Middle East North Africa region and protect international oil interests in both the Arabian Peninsula and the Levant. Due to this, Operation Thanksgiving also includes an areal assault via the island of Cyprus, from Akotiri and Dhekalia, the British bases in Cyprus. Utilizing out XB-70 North American Valkyrie Bombers, top of the line, and unmatched, we are able to run light bombing campaigns in Isreali and Turkish positions in their offensive against Syria and Iraq. We also begin bombing off the southern coast of Anatolia, including Izmir and its southern cities. With this, we will launch a minor offensive into Eastern Thrace and European Turkey, fooling Ankara into thinking that we are spearheading into Istanbul to secure the straits, due to their vital position. However, this would act as a diversion, as a greater force of 65,000 army soldiers, marines, and naval divisions armed with mechanized and light artillery to land into Crete, this considerably more manned than our Thracian advance. We aim to capture to port cities of Kissamos and Chania, to quickly threaten Heraklion, to hopefully retake the city and to liberate Crete. Step 2 of the plan is to launch a renewed offensive into Bulgaria. Mobilizing in the Greek city of Thessaloniki, we launch an invasion near Bulgarian occupied Xanthi, and encircle the divisions, boggging down their main invasion force as we launch a quick offensive into Plovdiv and the outer banks of Sofia. As part of our no-fly-zone, we also bomb the mountains of Central Bulgaria relentlessly, utilizing napalm to snuff out guerilla resistance. Using this tactic, we launch a smaller invasion force, yet more weaponized and a larger advantage in the tech side to take on the already exhausted and alone Bulgarian troops. Step 3 is one of the most important: the battle for the Adriatic, Albania, and Italy. With most of the Soviet invading force leaving Albania and settlign down in Taranto, Italy, this leaves a wide gap within Albania's lines. With a force of 150,000 men, and heavy air support and mechanized units, we aim to puncture through the Albanian lines, securing the Southern Coast and its port cities of Vlore and Lushnje. Not only do our typical infantry units serve in this offensive, but also our battle hardened troops of Germany, as we not only use them on the frontline but also as instructors for our new recruits. We also begin a massive home mobilization, to accomodate our larger manpower demand. Before we can outright increase our age-of-conscription, which would require the consent of Congress, we begin mass propaganda efforts to get younger teens and more older adults (18-25 year olds) to join the army. With hopefully our new manpower reserve filled, it is time for the great counteroffensive. 750,000 men are on their way to the southern Italian front, to launch a spearhead into Bari. Utilizng heavy air support, including our XB-70s, F-4s, and U-2s, we target strong and fortified positions in the Soviet lines to break them through and launch a counter-offensive. One of our light mechanized units, the Humvee, or HMMWV, is used as a quick and lightweight alternative to a tank, which appears as a Jeep with an MG mounted at the top. Capable of operating off-road, being able to transfer heavy payloads quickly, and its 15 configurations make it one of our best weapons against the Reds. We utilize it in our counterattack towards Bari and Taranto, utilizing the heavy Soviet casaulties of their initial assault to our advantage. We also transfer our boys to Sicily via Corsica and Sardinia, utilizing NATO/EATO submarines to attack Soviet navy ships in the Medditerennean. We land in the Ports of Marsala and Agrigento, with 300,000 men, working closely with Italian troops on the ground to launch a counteroffensive torwards Trapani and Palermo. navy stuff later i dont have space
