PLEASE GET THIS ATTENTION!!! THIS SERIOUS!!! Recently, I was at my gradparents meet up thing, I wont be giving the name for safety reasons, but something very desturbing and sad happend. I would like to bring this to attention, and help show how we can stay safe from people like this. Please read, this is VERY importent. This young man, about 14 or 15 years of age was saying descusting and inappropriate things to these two you girls about the same age, or younger. he was saying things like "You two are really hot" and "I'm gonna k!dnap you" and worse. He has texted inappropriate things to girls, said he wanted to do things to little girls, and sexual harassment before apparently, and always get away with it. The two girls were a block away from the meet up thingy and ran over to get help. One was breaking down and both were shaken. The one girl called her dad, and he came and called the cops. he chased the young man down the street after trying to follow the girls (way to go the girls dad!!! <33 ) and later the cops arrived and arrested the young man. HOWEVER. All he got that night was to go home and told not to leave his home. IKR. WHAT. NO WAY. THAT CAN'T BE IT. well it was. This incident shoke ME up and they didn't even do anything to me. I can only IMAGAN how the girls were feeling. AND ALSO they did not ONLY do this to girls. His friend was whispering stuff to this one boy at the meet up a few months ago. Now, where my grandparents work, it is a VERY safe neighborehood. Its SO sad that people like this ruin it for everyone. In fact we had wanted to take a night walk that night, and after that, I was like " no thanks." This happens SO much its so unfair. AND PEOPLE GET AWAY W IT. Boys AND girls do this. Its NOT just young men. It can be any gender, doing it to ANY gender. This was SUPER concerning and I thought I'd bring attention to it. So here are some ways we young and older people can stay safe. 1. Keep a phone with you. If someone appears to start following you or are trying to touch you, call someone. Don't hesitate and let them get away w it. 2. Be in a group of at LEAST 3 at night. If your alone, who says THEY are? If someone needs to, one sneeks away and goes to get some one before it gets worse. 3. If you are a small, short person, please PLEASE bring some sort of self defence, such as pepper spray, or a heavy or sharp key chain. 4. DON'T LET SOMEONE DO ANYTHING TO YOU WITHOUT YOUR PREMITION THEN GET AWAY W IT!!! This is huge bc some ppl think it wasn't a big deal that they did smth, BUT TRUST ME. THEY NEED TO KNOW THEY CANnot DO THAT STUFF. SO PLEASE. TELL. SOMEONE. weither its your friend, guardian, or leader or host of a meeting. OR call the cops. If someone does something, or you think your in danger, DON'T TAKE THE CHANCE. Call the cops. If you can get to saftey, PLEASE do that. Thankfully the two girls, and everyone else he mentaly and physically harmed, are fine physically. Mentally, this has probably scared them We have the RIGHT to feel safe. Do NOT let people like that young man get away w that stuff. IF YOU ARE NOT THE ONE BEING HARRASEED, BUT YOU SEE IT HAPPEN, TELL SOMEONE. DO NOT TRY TO BREAK IT UP UNLESS YOU HAVE EXPIRIANCE AND CAN PYSICALLY STOP THE PERSON FROM HARMING THE OTHER. This is a topic that needs to be talked about more in school, and something smaller happens to me. I'll share a little of that One time on Goodwill (yes, GOODWILL. PUBLIC PPL. THINGS HAPPEN IN PUBLIC) me and my mom were shopping, and she said she had to go to the bathroom, so I was like "yeah I'll be fine. Its goodwill lol, its good." Yeah, famous last words. Long story short, this woman started following me, so I went by the bathroom by mom bc I felt uncomfertable, and as soon as she could have reached out to grab me, my mother came out of the bathroom, and I was physically shaking. I may have over reacting, and some people I've told that story too have said that "oh, she may have been just trying to see if you were w some one. You were fine." Maybe. Maybe their right, but things don't add up. She didn''t need to be breathing down my neck to see if I was fine. Thanks to my mom w Spidey senses apparently and came out at the LAST second dude. But anyway, that was tramatizing bc I was helpless. Short, small, little kid. Defecless. We don't have to be this. PLEASE pretect yourself from ppl like that young man.
