Today, I headed over to Nyx's barn to get my new horse! Please welcome Briar, otherwise known as DME Prickly but Sweet. She is an 8y/o Gypsy Vanner mare, standing at 15hh, and very, very cute! (At Rustwood Acres, owned by @YourLocalCowgirlNyx) I arrived with my trailer, and went to say hi to Nyx, and tour the barn a little. After this, she led me to Briar, who immediately nickered and whinnied at me <3. I spent about 15 mins just cuddling a little, and eventually, once she started to seem a little impatient, like where the heck are you taking me and what are you doing, so, I slipped her new halter over her ears, and led her out to my trailer. Nyx and I had a chat, while I got everything ready, and after that, we said bye, and we were off! Briar was actually very calm during the drive, but once I stepped into the trailer, once we arrived, I discovered that she spilled about half of her water! (At home, DME) After cleaning up all the water, I detached her, and carefully led her down the ramp, she sniffed it a little, like she had upon leaving, but she didn’t really react otherwise. I walked her to the barn, and she was looking around, and seemed to really enjoy where she was. I led her to her stall, I unclipped her lead rope, and let her go into her stall. I stepped in, and closed the door behind me, then took her halter off. I put it on the hook near her stall, (gave her a kiss) and then went to the feed/tack rooms to prepare a mash for her. After that, I brought it back, and left to let her eat it in peace. (She has a very drippy mouth).
