Life is like band. God is the Conductor, Composer, and the steady beat. Us humans are the students. We’re all starting band for the first time. Everyone starts on the same instrument, and we start learning it. Some learn faster than others, and some don’t quite understand yet. So when everyone starts playing simple rhythms, some get too confident and start speeding up, losing track of the beat completely just to do their own thing. They start depending on themselves and deceive others of the true tempo. It starts with one person, then grows and grows until there are a lot of people following the incorrect beat made by the first guy. Some stay true to the original tempo the Conductor set up. But for them, it gets harder and harder to be heard and not follow the crowd. Some are lost and must choose which tempo to follow: the incorrect one which everyone else is playing, or they listen to either the drumbeat at the back of the classroom or one of the students that are faithful to the original tempo. They must choose a side, for there is no midpoint. There’s a strong tear between the 2 tempos, a battle for which is correct. The ones who are correct in their ways will succeed in the end, because they’re denying the other’s sound and listening for the steady drumbeat that never fails. The ones that chose their own tempo will tempt or push the faithful ones to play the incorrect tempo, but that’s because they’re so caught up in what they think is right or what they want to be right. They can’t or don’t hear the steady beat of the drum. When the time is right (a time only He knows), the Conductor will stop playing the drum but start conducting at the back of the classroom. He does this because He trusts the faithful people will depend on Him to keep time. Most faithful fall away into the ways of the crowd because they can’t hear the Conductor anymore or because they faked being faithful. Very little non-original faithfuls looked back after hearing a difference and joined the original tempo, following the hands of the Conductor. The original faithful keep going and look back to check if what they’re doing is right. The Conductor gladly helps those who go to Him to find the original tempo, and they never get lost. For they belong to His tempo. When it gets hard to feel the original tempo, all the faithful gather, knowing the Conductor is sending them on a mission to gather more people, go into the crowd of the incorrect people, playing strong as they go. Some join them and others are too prideful with their hearts hardened. But, at the end of the class, the Conductor will say to the unfaithful, “You are not my student, for the reason I put you all in this class was to play my music correctly, but your wicked and prideful hearts led you to so your own thing, and lead others astray in the process. Depart from me and never return to this class, for you will spend eternity in some form of punishment.” He will then say to the faithful, “Well done, my good and faithful students, for you have done all I asked of you, even when you were tempted to do otherwise. Welcome to the rest of eternity here, with me, where you can rest peacefully away from all your worries and listen to good music!”
If Jesus is the Conductor, you are one of the students, and the end of the class is Judgment Day, what would Jesus say to you with the lifestyle you’ve been living plus with what’s in your heart? Would you be one of the faithful, always trusting in Him even when you fall short? Would you be the lost, who haven’t been taught the Good News (that Jesus loves you + died the worst possible death for you so you could go to Heaven)? Or would you be the unfaithful, who know the Word and rejected it, who know the Word and don’t listen to what it says (lukewarm Christianity included), or who do wicked things and follow the wicked actions of this world without ever changing? If you are a faithful servant, serve others with the Good News! It’s our literal MISSION to spread the Gospel with others and rescue the lost, confused, burdened, and unfaithful (even if they hurt us!) Put Jesus first in everything and let people see the Christ in you! He died for you, so why not live for Him? If you are lost or unfaithful, Jesus STILL loves you! There’s literally NOTHING in this world that you can do to separate you from Him! In Romans 8:31-39, Paul writes: “What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Feel free to ask me any questions or ask God questions! He’d LOVE to talk to you! If you don’t know what to do, and the Bible seems life it has too many rules to follow (I’ve been there before!), let me read to you Romans 13:8-10: “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not covet,’ and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” That means that with every single law in the Bible, it sums up to loving your neighbor as yourself! Which means to love everyone, even those who hurt you! In John 16:33, Jesus says: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” That means that He has defeated sin and death through His death and resurrection! God, whoever may be reading this, I pray will talk to you and that they can learn about You and how AMAZING You are! I also pray You tell them (or show them), how much they are truly loved and valued! May you bestow Your Holy Spirit upon them! In Jesus’s Almighty name I pray, amen!
