It seemed wise to dress in muggle clothing until I got to the station, at least. Mrs Cole drove me down to Kings Cross. I admit I was surprised at her incuriosity. Usually, she doesn't let us do anything without asking at least ten questions first. When we arrived, I started heading towards Platform 9. ( and three quarters? ) Professor McGonnagal was waiting there. "Right, what you have to do is walk straight through onto Platform nine and three quarters," she said simply. "Through what?" I was confused. "The barrier, child!" she said, exasperated. I was unsure but said nothing else to the tone of finality in her voice. I heaved my luggage onto my back and started walking. I was almost there. I was getting nearer and nearer. I broke into a run, a sprint even. I was going to hit the wall! I squeezed my eyes shut. "Magic is real," I whispered. The barrier was not upon me yet. I chanced a glance up. There, in front of me was a scarlet train billowing out plumes of scarlet steam.
