CUBEWILD - a 3D Minecraft-style sandbox. Release date: October 15! HOW TO PLAY You wake up in a fresh, randomly generated block world. Punch trees for logs, dig for stone, craft tools, eat to stay alive, and build whatever you like. Friendly Boxy animals wander around by day, but when night falls the Ghouls come out, so be ready. 1. Click the green flag, then choose PLAY on the title screen. Wait a moment while your world is generated. 2. Hold the left mouse button on a block to break it. Blocks you break go into your hotbar. 3. Press F to place the block in your selected hotbar slot. 4. Punch a tree for logs, then press E to open the inventory and craft planks, sticks and tools. 5. Keep an eye on your hearts and food. Eat pork and apples to stay full - a full belly slowly heals you. 6. Survive the night, then build a shelter, dig a mine or explore the whole world. CONTROLS W A S D - move around Space - jump (hold it to swim up in water) Mouse - look around (the screen edge keeps turning you) Arrow keys - turn and look up / down Left click (hold) - break blocks and attack F - place a block / eat food 1 - 9 - pick a hotbar slot E - open / close the inventory and crafting P - pause / resume Click anywhere during the Linear Labs intro to skip it CRAFTING (press E) 1 Log = 4 Planks 2 Planks = 4 Sticks 3 Planks + 2 Sticks = Wood Pickaxe 3 Stone + 2 Sticks = Stone Pickaxe 2 Planks + 2 Sticks = Wood Axe 2 Stone + 2 Sticks = Stone Axe Pickaxes break stone faster, axes chop wood faster. TIPS - Your first job is always wood: punch a tree, make planks, make a pickaxe. - Don't get caught in the open at night. Dig into a hillside or build a little hut and wait for morning. - Hunger slowly drains. Pork (from Boxy pigs) and apples (from trees) refill it. - Dying doesn't delete your world - you can respawn, or start a NEW WORLD. - Open SETTINGS to change render distance, quality, sound, music, mouse sensitivity, day speed (you can freeze the day) and mouse look. - If it runs slowly, set Render Distance to SHORT and Quality to FAST. It also runs much faster in TurboWarp. - Blocks: grass, dirt, stone, wood, leaves, sand, water, planks and unbreakable bedrock at the very bottom.
Made by LinearLabs. Cubewild is an original game. It is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by Mojang or Microsoft, and it contains no assets from Minecraft. It is simply inspired by the block-sandbox genre. The 3D view is a pseudo-3D heightmap raycaster built entirely with Scratch blocks and the pen extension. All art, mobs, sound effects and music were made from scratch for this project (no assets copied from other projects). Runs at 30 fps. Works in the Scratch editor, but plays much smoother in TurboWarp. Coming October 15 - follow LinearLabs so you don't miss it! Tell me in the comments what you'd like to see added. Thanks for playing!
