(Press space/click screen to view the other pics) I opened 2 of the Pikachu version of Genetic Apex packs to honour Avery's memory today. Y'all know who Avery the Poké Kid is right? Well if u don't he was a really cool, funny, brave, kind kid who passed away a few days ago. He loved to open irl packs and he helped a lot of kids and people, made a LOT of people happy and he was VERY hilarious. But he passed due to cancer. DARN U STUPID CANCER I WISH U NEVER EXISTED!! His fav Pokémon was Pikachu so that's why I opened these specific packs. And guess what? I got Pikachu on the first pack as the first card. Ig I cried... Rest easy champion... I put the binder cover as Pikachu for him too. And the only display board theme (the last image) I had with Pikachu on it was the 30th Celebration one but ig that's even better since the last packs he ever opened were the 30th Celebration packs. (He pulled the full art Articuno and Jirachi SIR *Special Illustration Rare* and when u think about Jirachi's lore it makes it even more heart wrenching...iykyk) I will now cherish this Pikachu card forever or atleast for as long as my account survives. I'm calling it "Memochu" for Avery's memory. Another great thing happened too. So I put Memochu into my Rotom EX deck and put it straight into battle to test if it's actually strategic to put Memochu into the deck. I put *shiny* Pichu on the active spot and Zapdos EX onto the bench. I used Pichu's move Crackling Snap which doesn't require any energy and put the lightning energies i got from the move onto Zapdos. The opponent was using a Terapagos EX and it killed Pichu so they got a point. Then I put Zapdos onto the active spot and before I used the most powerful move Zapdos has I put Memochu onto the bench. Zapdos's move's damage is determined by the number of heads u get when u flip a coin until u get tails with each heads being 50 damage. Usually I suck at flipping coins and get like only 2 head max. But today I used the move while Memochu was on the bench and I GOT 3 HEADS which meant 150 damage and TERAPAGOS ONLY HAD 150 HP!! So I absolutely demolished it and got 2 points! (When u kill a regular EX u get 2 points) And u might say "well, maybe u got lucky that time" but I believe that it was the luck of Avery's Memochu who made it happen (cuz usually things like this NEVER happen with a move that requires flipping coins!) and no one can convince me otherwise. (The opponent then forfeited cuz ig they saw their inevitable defeat lol) I was SO SAD AND HAPPY at the same time I cried again... But Avery wouldn't want everyone to be sad I think he'll want us to move on. Once again Rest in Peace to the Greatest Pokémon Trainer to ever exist. He is and always will be the TRUE Pokémon Master. Keep his memory alive...
