Okay so omg the encore dropped!!!!!! Here are my thoughts!! So first, Patient Zero. This one is good, definitely not her best song ever but it is okay. It’s kinda like, “you’re dating my ex so if you need advice come to me.” Which I understand but I’m not really sure if I love the song. The chorus is really catchy but the bridge is kinda weird. It is growing on me though and I am soo excited for the music vid tomorrow!! The clip we got is very interesting, so I’m looking forward to that. Next up, Cleveland! This song is actually hilarious. Taylor really knows how to rage bait the haters. Everyone online is like blah blah wood part two, the writing is horrible, it’s not cute or clever, etc. But tbh she knew exactly what she was doing with this, and it is really funny to watch people fall for it. She was just like, “you hated wood? Okay time to double down.” And personally, I think this song is really cute, especially with the clips in the lyric video. They both look so genuinely happy.
Anyway, onto song #3, Pink Clouding. I really love this one, love the melody, love the chorus, love it all. And for those of you who are confused about what pink clouding actually means, I looked it up for you. It is a term used in mental health and psychology to describe an early stage in addiction recovery where a person feels intense optimism and hopefulness. So my thoughts are that this song is about being overly optimistic at the beginning of a new relationship after coming out of a bad one. But this intense optimism can often lead to a higher chance of relapse (going back to a bad relationship), so I think this may be why she is apologizing in the song. But overall the beat is amazing and this might be my favorite one. Last but definitely not least, we have Babylon. This song definitely gives evermore vibes, probably partly because she references Babylon in cowboy like me. But I love love love this one, it is definitely my other favorite. However, i am definitely a folklore evermore girlie, so i can see how this might not be some people’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely mine. I especially love the lyric about “your time is money” it was just really clever. This one is about someone who longed to get away from their town, but when they did, they missed it. Which is a very good concept and I like it very much. So overall, I know these new songs have their haters, but I am definitely not one of them. Let me know what you guys think in the comments!! (Side note: I don’t know if us swifties are clowning or not but debut tv?? Tell me what you think!)
