In 1988, Audi came up with the 200 Quattro, an All-wheel drive, 2.1 Liter-turbocharged-Inline 5 producing 503 bhp. Hurley Haywood would take on driver of the #44, and would win the Trans Am championship in a record-breaking season. Though, it would come to an end in 1989, as the SCCA banned foreign engines in Trans Am. But Audi wasn't done winning. They instead took their business to IMSA, in the GTO series, becoming a dominant force in that series as well.
