=⌕ [ art and au ] // » ᵖⁱˣᵉˡ ⁱˢ ᵗʸᵖⁱⁿᵍ... > with all the ghost updates we've been getting, I thought it would be fun to come up with another au :) > if you want to make your own art or add headcanons to this au, feel free! I'd love to see others use it. > what is the gensrooms au? - in this au, when cats die, rather than being sent to starclan, the place of no stars or becoming a shade, they become trapped in a world that encapsulates their life and memories. ( the backrooms lol ) - the cat living in the liminal space ( or "level" as they are formally called, ) is known as the Host. they can have as little or as much control over their surroundings as they believe. - however, their level can also alter their minds, making it difficult for them to recall who or what they were before being trapped and limiting their memories. > more on hosts - only most mentally capable of Hosts are able to recall their memories and are aware of their death. - in general, Hosts have a lingering sense of dread due to dying, but are unable to explain why they feel this way. they can recall one or two memories when provided with the proper stimulus ( ie, seeing an image of a loved one ) - those most susceptible to the mind games of their surroundings may fully believe they have always existed in their level. - Hosts are the only entity in most levels, unless the Host itself chooses to create more, for whatever reason, whether willingly or unwillingly. > more on levels - each level is essentially a place crafted by the mind of its Host. a prison of their own creation. - due to this, levels and their dangerousness vary from Host to Host. a particularly volatile Host will usually live in a fragile level. you would do well not to upset them. - all of the levels in existence are on a sort of interconnecting spiderweb, meaning that Hosts may visit other levels, if they know how to access them. most do not. - featured art - > level 28 : the dreary schoolyard > resident host : Sunlightsentinel , or Entity 030 > awareness : 2 / 10 > danger : 1 / 10 ̶S̶̶T̶̶A̶̶B̶̶L̶̶E̶. ̶S̶̶U̶̶P̶̶E̶̶R̶̶V̶̶I̶̶S̶̶I̶̶O̶̶N̶ ̶U̶̶N̶̶N̶̶E̶̶C̶̶E̶̶S̶̶S̶̶A̶̶R̶̶Y̶. > Entity 030 is the inhabitant of level 28. it is entirely harmless, and often ignores those who wander past. it seems to be stuck staring up indefinitely into the pink sky. wanderers who manage to get its attention claim that it will only ask you questions and refuses to respond otherwise. the only danger in this level is becoming consumed by oppressive feelings of guilt. > level 36 : the shrouded neighborhood > resident host : Waveblade , or Entity 444 > awareness : 8 / 10 > danger : 4 / 10 ̶S̶̶T̶̶A̶̶B̶̶L̶̶E̶. ̶S̶̶U̶̶P̶̶E̶̶R̶̶V̶̶I̶̶S̶̶I̶̶O̶̶N̶ ̶U̶̶N̶̶N̶̶E̶̶C̶̶E̶̶S̶̶S̶̶A̶̶R̶̶Y̶. > Entity 444 resides within level 36. unlike most Hosts, he appears to be aware that he is no longer alive. he will happily offer help to any wanderer who crosses his path, leading them through the perfect lawns of his level and onto the next one. shadowlike entities also exist in this level, and Entity 444 insists that they are his family. they are harmless. do not try to convince him otherwise. > level 55 : the playground kingdom > resident host : Calendulasnicker , or Entity 009 > awareness : 0 / 10 > danger : 7 / 10 ̶S̶̶T̶̶A̶̶B̶̶L̶̶E̶. ̶S̶̶U̶̶P̶̶E̶̶R̶̶V̶̶I̶̶S̶̶I̶̶O̶̶N̶ ̶R̶̶E̶̶Q̶̶U̶̶E̶̶S̶̶T̶̶E̶̶D̶. > upon first glance, Entity 009 seems entirely harmless. however, according to those who have encountered them, they will tell wanderers that they are the ruler of the childrens' playplace, which they refer to as their "kingdom". any attempts to disillusion the entity have been met with failure. those who still try to persuade the entity are met with open hostility and are turned into toy figurines. more subjects for the monarch. > level 40 : the nostalgic slides > resident host : Feather , or Entity 319 > awareness : 7 / 10 > danger : 4 / 10 ̶S̶̶T̶̶A̶̶B̶̶L̶̶E̶. ̶S̶̶U̶̶P̶̶E̶̶R̶̶V̶̶I̶̶S̶̶I̶̶O̶̶N̶ ̶U̶̶N̶̶N̶̶E̶̶C̶̶E̶̶S̶̶S̶̶A̶̶R̶̶Y̶. > Entity 319 himself is harmless. he seems to prefer to travel through his level alone, although those who encounter him are met with nothing but kindness. the slides in this level lead to a multitude of different places, but choosing the wrong one would may lead to a dangerous situation. Entity 319 is willing to point wanderers to safe slides, but usually vanishes the moment help has been given. > level 606 : the riot arcade > resident host : Marlinmutiny , or Entity 666 > awareness : 10 / 10 > danger : 9 / 10 ̶U̶̶N̶̶S̶̶T̶̶A̶̶B̶̶L̶̶E̶. ̶S̶̶U̶̶P̶̶E̶̶R̶̶V̶̶I̶̶S̶̶I̶̶O̶̶N̶ ̶C̶̶R̶̶I̶̶T̶̶I̶̶C̶̶A̶̶L̶. > Entity 666 is an entirely aware Host. however, he is not kind towards wanderers. able to bend the level to his will, Entity 666 purposefully torments any who have the misfortune of crossing his path, usually driving them to insanity before setting one of his nightmarish entities on them to finish the job. the only way to remain safe in this level is to somehow gain the favor of Entity 666.
i will do this soonish but for now have just the levels
