"Shall we go to Ollivanders now?" Lily asked excitedly. "Yes!" said Fay. "Okay. But then to Madam Malkin's!" said Ginny. "All right," Lily said happily. "Come on, Fay and Hugo!" said Lily. Fay, Lily, and Hugo walked to Ollivanders. Ginny and Mrs. Fox came along. Since Mr. Fox wasn't a wizard, he couldn't enter Diagon Alley and had stayed home. Harry, Ron, and Hermione had gone to Flourish and Blotts with Albus, James, and Rose to buy all the books. When they arrived at Ollivanders, the shop was empty. Only Mr. Ollivander was walking around, sorting wands. As they entered the shop, he turned around immediately. "Oh, Mrs. Weasley! Good to see you," he said to Ginny. "Potter! My name isn't Weasley anymore!" she said. "Oh, of course. I’d completely forgotten that you married Mr. Potter." "Right, now for you. Who wants their wand first?" he asked. Hugo hid a little, and Lily stepped forward. "Okay. Miss Potter." "Here, try this one," he said to Lily, handing her a wand. Lily took it in her hand and gave it a little wave. Suddenly, a light breeze blew through the shop, and the wand glowed red. "Uh-oh. The wrong one. Quick! Give it back!" Then he went to the shelf, put the wand away, and fetched a new one. Lily took it in her hand, and this time the wand glowed an orange-blonde color. "The right one! I knew it." "Dragon heartstring and beech wood." "Will you step forward, Miss Fox?" Fay stepped forward. Ollivander handed her a wand. Fay took it and waved it lightly through the air. Suddenly, a wand flew from the shelf straight toward her. She handed the first wand back to Ollivander and took the one that had flown to her. Fay's hand grew warm, and the wand glowed with a golden light. "Oh. I... I... That can't be! That is the wand-brother of... of... Lord Malakor Riddle. He, too, had a wand with a dragon heartstring core and a phoenix feather core. These wands are truly special—there are only two of them in existence! And the second one has just chosen you!" Then Hugo received his wand as well, and they moved on to Madam Malkin’s, where they each bought three sets of work robes, a pointed hat, dragon-hide protective gloves, and a winter cloak. Later, they went to Flourish & Blotts. In the evening, they returned home. Soon, they would be traveling to Hogwarts.
