Soooooooo....... Long time no see, ig... I've locked in and completed a bug-free interface for the revamp of Space Explorers, and I am ready to start the actual game code! However, there are some things I need settled... For example, one very important issue is the gameplay. I could make a relatively easy game, with orbital rockets unlocked from the start, or I could go further back into the history of rocketry, using a system of experience points to unlock newer payloads and rockets, working your way up to orbital rockets and crewed capsules. If I go with the second option, the game gets more challenging to play, but it might be too much of a headache for me to code. (Again, if anyone wants to help, feel free! Any help is appreciated and will be mentioned in the credits) There are also some other game plot ideas that I'm not entirely sure are engaging, so that's why I'm reaching out to YOU. Please feel free to take a look at previous projects for Space Explorers.(The main one rn is very buggy and more or less scrapped, so keep that in mind. However, my initial gameplay plan is in the first sprite, so you may want to check it out!) And right now, my main dilemma is the gameplay, as I could go with something similar to War Thunder but no combat stuff, and it's in space or an easier version that many would beat quickly. Another thing I need to sort out is the gameplay style. I could go with an RPG style, which would hopefully make character movement outside spacecraft easier, but it would possibly present some challenges. The other option is similar to the movement of the character in the project "Character Movement Test," which could be easier in the short run, but will get more complex to code interactions and whatnot. Please comment your thoughts and ideas below...
TRAILER COMING OUT SOON I honestly am leaning toward the RPG style cuz it seems easy enough to code (with griffpatch's tutorial ofc) and would be great for exploration and stuff actual project is just an animation test If you don't wanna read all that, then basically I could go with an RPG-style or a 3d style character movement (the RPG will allow for exploring much larger areas and easier coding, I think, whereas teh 3d thing looks a little cooler), and I could have the game start you at orbital rockets and a matching payload, or make it more challenging/educatonal by starting at the beginning of rocketry and working your way up.
