_~* Hoof Trimmings *~_ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ A Whisper, Ivory, & Doubloon Update ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Update ~ Since its been a month or so, I found that a couple of our horses needed their Hooves trimmed again. Typically, I like to do it mainly by myself, but when it gets to the point where I need a 'professional' , I hire someone. Whisper ~ I went down to her pasture, where she was standing in the hay that she had spilled all over the ground. I grabbed her halter off the shank, and headed through the gate, and into to the pasture. Doubloon [ who is her pasture buddy ] was NOT happy to see me walking over to Whisper, especially since I wasn't holding her halter along with Whispers. Since Doubloon didn't want Whisper to leave, she happily greeted me at the fence after I had grabbed Whisper. I smiled, and shooed her away, she walked away, before realizing my motive, and ran to the fence and whinnied as we walked away. Trimming Whispers hooves was very simple as she loves to be helpful, and carefully lifted up each hoof for me so I could trim it. So, hers was the easiest, and went quite smoothly. When I took Whisper back, I planned to get Doubloon, but Doubloon and Whisper started running around at intense speeds, so I went to Ivory first. Ivory ~ Ivory was staring in awe at her neighbors as they ran around in circles. I walked up and [ thankfully ] didn't spook Ivory as I came up her side. She let me put on her halter and followed me out to the cross-ties. But I'm pretty sure the only reason she isn't complaining is because shes side-tracked by the movie going on. When I crouched down to start trimming, I found that Ivory was being stubborn and wouldn't lift up her hoof for me. Thankfully that was fixed with a little force, and we finished quite nicely. In the end at least. I could tell Ivory liked her trimmed hooves, and started acting like she got the best manicure of all time. This caught Doubloons attention, and soon enough I found Doubloon neighing at me for her turn. Doubloon ~ Normally, Doubloon puts up a small fuss about the halter. but now she was judging me about how long it was taking to get to the cross ties. Which set the stage for a very easy 'manicure'. When we reached the cross ties, Doubloon happily waited as I grabbed my supplies, and lifted up her hooves for me when I needed her too. This made for a very nice, and easy process. When I was walking down to her pasture to turn her out again, I found she was walking around like she was the queen of the world, I couldn't help but laugh, which got a snort out of her. When we reached her pasture, we walked in and I carefully slipped off her halter and headed out. and watched as Doubloon and Whisper pranced around, resulting in Ivory joining in too. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Just another cute update
