the title is a joke btw also this isn't a rant with a slime asmr gif and subway surfers in the background sorry kiddies! just a wall of text this isnt about qwel ok. well it is since it regards the game's creative decisions but not about the rox/qwel thing okay. don't talk abt it here. this was just a random rant I made in class so the argument is not flawless or researched or unbiased or perfectly remembered nor is it supposed to be. I'm just a random person on the internet saying stupid things. I enjoy POLITE counterclaims, so keep it civil. anyway I'm here to talk a lot I want to make this VERY clear; I am NOT expecting qwel to have a perfect storyline or worldbuilding or super deep characters or amazing game mechanics, this is a Roblox mascot "horror" delver game that started out as a passion project. however, I do believe everything deserves constructive criticism, which is the reason I'm posting this. the first problem is neglect. this applies to ALL of the toons. qwel clearly picks favorites both for skins and lore and it shows. even with the characters her and the fandom love, she barely gives them any depth. the second problem is chaos. okay I think most people can agree that dandys world is very.... disorganized. personally I like the game but there are lots of ideas, plots, storylines, and game mechanics that go nowhere or don't have any set purpose?? the third problem is avoidance. this goes hand in hand with neglect; qwel simply avoids things she doesn't want to work on or are too messed up to fix without a COMPLETE redo (like the rnd rework that never came. scraps "rework.") simply dealing with these problems could've improved the game TENFOLD. the fourth problem that mainly concerns the lore is subversion. for example, a headcanon I liked--cocoa being the one replaced BY bassie--fit into the story about a year ago when details surrounding that plot were kept vague. subverting the more obvious interpretation that bassie is afraid of being replaced by cocoa would've defeated the cliche and gave both bassie AND cocoa more depth instead being shelly 2.0. (I could make a whole project ranting about THIS specifically but that'll probably be posted on @shuttleposts if at all.) this doesn't JUST concern one piece of lore but instead the game as a whole. if you want to give your characters deep lore dealing with feelings of abandonment, shame, power imbalances, and social masking, you might need to do some actual research on these things instead of following stereotypes. but idk what do you guys think
