Edward- Edward is a FR class E1, fitted and built in 1883, and underwent an experiment in 1897. In this experiment, he was fitted with K2 parts and underwent new boiler papers that stated “K2 EXPERIMENT”; hence why, when the books were released, Rev. Wilbert Awdry made him an E1, but a communication error occurred with the illustrators, and they made him a K2, following his papers. He was sent to Sodor in 1915 to help build the NWR; he made friends with the S&M engines and the SKR engines as well. 6 months later, Barrow Works came along (Thomas), and they made good connections with each other. When the Railway was finished, He and Barrow Works were sold to the NWR and reside there now.
