This is a Thalia x Luke fanfic, characters are from the Percy Jackson books. Huff, its finally here XD. Enjoy! - Thalia I've gotten very good at running. Maybe i should join a track team. Yea, i think ill do that just as soon as im done fighting to the death. I could feel my eyes burning as the toxic gasses from a broken pipe filled the room. I had fallen through the floor of an old abandoned pizzeria. I didn't even know there were rooms under places like this. Maybe this is where they keep the secret ingredient holding back pineapple pizza from being the most amazing thing ever. when i had fallen through the floor, the monster chasing me had backed up quickly. but i could sense it was still there. as far as i could see, there weren't any usable doors i could use to get out of here. I guess I’ll just had to sit here and wait for the thing up there to eat me. I had a hand gvn I had found in an alley, but I didn’t think it would do much against whatever I was facing. "Pst-" I nearly jumped out of my skin. From somewhere in the plies of old pizza boxes and junk, came a whisper. I jumped to my feet and leveled my gvn at the pale face looking at me from beneath a desk. "Who the heck are you?" "Whoa whoa whoa, put that thing away. Don't you want to get out of here?" The speakers voice was deep, but he sounded to be around my age. "If you think I'm putting this down just cause you told me to, your out of your mind. Come out here, then maybe I will." A few boxes fell off the desk as a blond, tall boy stepped out from behind it with his hands up. He was tall, and had dark circles under his eyes. His blond hair immediately reminded me of my little brother, but i shook that thought out of my head quickly. To painful. "So, will you put the gvn down now?" He half smiled, and my heart missed a beat. He had an almost pointy face, like an elf. his smile was sly, like he was calculating my next move. "I can help you get out of here, girly." he continued. "DONT call me that," i said, lowering my weapon slightly. "My names Thalia. And i can take care of myself, thank you very much." "Well Thalia, my names Luke. But i guess if you don't want me to show you the only door that leads out of this place..." As soon as he said that, part of the ceiling across the room collapsed onto the floor. Sitting there in the rubble, was a woman. But she wasn't fully woman, she had the legs of a bird. "Hello my dears," she rasped. "its time for my midnight snacks, and unfortunately for you, demi-god is the only thing on the menu." Eyes wide with terror, i sh0t at her, but they only thing it seemed to do was make her mad. The bvllet seemed to pass right through her! From behind me, Luke grabbed my hand and pulled me behind the desk just before the bird-lady flew at us. He held onto me tight as we ran into a dilapidated hallway and he kicked down a door that led to a stairwell. "Where are we going?" i yelled at him. "I've been staying in the building for the past week, and i found something that could help us on the roof. Just come on she's coming!" The monster was crashing and banging trying to fit herself into the hallway and up after us. She had clawed hands, and they cut easily into the metal on the doors. “Ok, maybe I will follow you!” I shouted as we dashed up the stairs. When we reached the top, Luke dropped my hand and burst out onto to roof. We were only 2 stories up, but it was enough to make me dizzy. I hate heights. I dropped to the concrete ground, my legs shaking. Luke looked back at me, surprised I wasn’t behind him. “What are you doing?” He ran back over to me and grabbed my arm. “I-I can’t do this, let’s go back down-“ The bird woman’s blood curdling shriek came echoing from the stairwell. “Absolutely not. Come on!” He yanked me onto my feet and we stumbled right towards the edge of the roof. “No no please stop-“ “Listen, you have to trust me!” He looked me dead in the eyes. His were a shocking blue color. Then, the monster burst into the sunlight, her wings flapping. She was no more than 20 feet away. She looked around briefly, then locked eyes on us. “You have to trust me!” He said again I stared at him, taking I deep breath. “Ok!” It’s not like I had a better option. The bird didn’t exactly look like she wanted to negotiate. As the monster flew right at us, Luke grabbed my hands, and we jumped off the roof. -
