tw forrr mentions of death I think Sol had been rummaging through his clothes- he needed to go out today and buy some food, and he wanted to look presentable, at the very least- when his gaze, once again, fell to Juno’s half of the closet. This wasn’t an uncommon occurrence. It always shocked the spirit that his boyfriend was able to keep so many articles of what was practically the exact same piece of clothing. Well, if he was already going out today… He turned towards Juno, who was still in bed, reading. “Honey, you should get some new clothes.” The human looked up, brows furrowing in confusion. “I have clothes. They’re all in there.” “I know, but you need something more interesting! You can’t live in t-shirts and jeans forever.” “Yes I can,” Juno responded quickly, his tone defensive. “No, you can’t,” Sol argued with a sigh. “I’m getting you out of the house. Maybe we can go somewhere to eat afterwards.” Juno sighed heavily and got out of bed, grumbling all the while. – – – Sol pushed open the door to the cute little boutique that had recently opened nearby, holding it open. Juno struggled more with doors than he’d admit. Sol had noticed the way his damaged hands shook at even some of the most menial tasks. He wouldn’t bring it up, of course, that would be rude, but he could at least do things to make life a bit easier for his boyfriend. After everything Juno had been through. A wave of guilt crashed over Sol, but- surely it wasn’t all his fault, right? He did his best. Juno forgave him. It was fine now. The two looked around for a while. No one paid much attention to Sol, he had his glamour. Juno seemed like he was in a better mood, now. Or, at the very least, he was showing mild interest in the clothes. It was then, when everything was going well, that Sol noticed something out of the corner of his eye. He looked away immediately. She was dead. Dead and gone. She couldn’t be here, it was impossible, Sol was seeing things again and it was all fine and everything was alright and Juno was happy and he needed to leave, needed to get out of here before he started crying, his eyes were already burning, but he couldn’t cry here. Everyone would see. Clementine. He missed her so much, even after everything. His lungs burned and his eyes stung and he was trying so hard to keep his breathing steady. He didn’t want to cry, he didn’t like crying. Juno took his hand, almost as if he’d noticed something. Which he probably did. Sol was sure he hadn’t done very well at keeping his grief concealed. Sol turned his head to see what was going on. Juno was holding up a nice-looking floral print dress with his free, though just as scarred, hand. It was nice, Sol was sure he’d look good in it. “Let’s get it,” Sol declared, his voice only slightly shaky. A win in his book, with how heavy he still felt. Juno nodded and squeezed Sol’s hand tighter.
