Moving is done with the arrow keys, and you can wall-jump and double jump. There are also different platforms such as moving/rotating platforms as well as jump-through platforms. The enemies are the basic appel enemies and flying spike balls. You can kill the basic ones but not the spike balls. If you die, you lose a life and respawn at either the start or your last checkpoint. If you lose all three lives, it is game over and you lose all progress. To help, there is an extra life hidden throughout the level. You can collect apples and keys. Keys will open doors of the same colour.
