La perms (the fur type that Drake has) curly fur comes from a rex mutation for curly fur. Though la perms generally have few health issues. Because of the fact that their coats tend to be a little less curly than some cat breeds they don't tend to have the same issues keeping themselves clean. Due to the fact they aren't related to other rex breeds they don't have the same genetic disposition to certain health conditions. Before a la perm is 4 months old they tend to be furless or bald. During this time Drake is more likely to get sunburn and they'll get cold easier than other kits.
